The Valley‘s Jax Taylor is seeking in-patient treatment for his mental health struggles amid his split from his wife, Brittany Cartwright.
Jax Taylor has decided to seek in-patient treatment as he struggles with his mental health amid his split from his wife, Brittany Cartwright.
“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast. He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment,” Jax Taylor’s rep told Page Six on Tuesday.
“This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
On Wednesday, the Vanderpump Rules alum revealed the reason he’s entering a mental health facility.
“Trying to get better for you buddy, daddy loves you so much,” the 45-year-old wrote in an Instagram Story photo of him kissing his 3-year-old son, Cruz.
This all comes eight months after Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s separation after five years of marriage.
In February, Brittany Cartwright announced that she and Jax were “taking time apart.” The Vanderpump Rules alum announced the news on her and Jax’s podcast, When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” the Kentucky native said at the time. “Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
Jax and Brittany met in 2015 at the Gold Spike Lounge in Las Vegas. The Kentucky native quickly moved to Los Angeles to be with Jax and first appeared on season 4 of Vanderpump Rules. By 2016, Brittany had landed a job at SUR and became an official VPR cast member.
After some ups and downs in their relationship, Jax proposed in June 2018, and the couple said ‘I do’ a little more than a year later, in 2019.
They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.
The Valley will return to Bravo for season 2 in 2025.
