Details about the death of Lauri Peterson’s 35-year-old son Josh are coming to light. Let’s breakdown what we know.
The death of Lauri Peterson’s son, Josh Waring, is believed to be the result of a fatal drug overdose.
Said alleged overdose occurred only days after Josh was released from jail.
A new report has confirmed how Josh Waring was found on March 31 after his older sister, Ashley Zarlin, revealed she lost her brother to the “relentless grip of addiction” in an April 6 Instagram post.
On April 8, law enforcement sources told TMZ that officers were dispatched to an Orange County motel around 11:30 am on Easter Sunday after motel staff were unable to confirm whether or not Josh had checked out of his room.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Josh’s body which laid alongside drug paraphernalia and residue. This finding led police to suspect Josh died from a possible overdose.
A separate report from Radar Online reveals that Josh’s death came just two days after he was released from jail after spending more than a month behind bars. On February 21, Josh was tossed back in jail for violating his release terms after he allegedly punched a security guard at a local medical center.
Josh was supposed to remain behind bars until next month but was released early. He was expected to contact his probation officer by April 1, which when he failed to do so, due his death, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The 35-year-old previously spent four years in prison after being convicted of a shooting.
Following Josh’s death on Easter Sunday, an autopsy, including a toxicology report, was completed. However, it will be weeks or months before the results of the toxicology report are revealed and an official cause of death can be confirmed.
Josh leaves behind a daughter Kennady, 11, who his mom, Lauri Peterson, adopted in 2015 amid his ongoing legal issues and struggles with addiction.
The Real Housewives of Orange County will return for season 18 in mid-to-late 2024.
