All six ladies helped reboot the New York Housewives franchise with season 14 last summer after a two-year hiatus.
Season 14 wrapped in October 2023 with many fans wondering if Bravo would keep the same cast for season 15. There was also concern that Jenna Lyons would jump ship as she was vocal about being uncomfortable doing reality TV.
“I really thought I was going to have an easier time,” she told Andy Cohen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in October 2023.
She went on to call “the whole show” her “thorn” of the season.
“It was hard! It’s shocking how when the camera’s actually on you … I thought I could handle it, and, you know, I couldn’t.”
The following month, Jenna evaded questions about her future on RHONY during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Jenna said her future as a Housewife was undecided: “I don’t know, what do you think? I don’t have an answer. I genuinely don’t know.”
She then skipped BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas which only further fueled speculation that Jenna was done with RHONY.
However, she did, in fact, sign up for a second season of RHONY, although with several caveats.
Jenna told The New York Times that she made it clear to Bravo that she’s keeping her loved ones, including her girlfriend, Cass Bird, off camera.
“I have a relationship, but I would like to not name her,” the former executive creative director of J.Crew said. “I want to keep her out of the press. That is my commitment to her. It’s off the table. I joined this process. She did not.”
Naturally, Bravo fans and Jenna’s RHONY co-stars may not be happy with her lack of transparency. Last season, she was called to task for not opening up enough.
Still, Jenna is ready and waiting for the pushback from her co-stars but tells the Times, “I don’t care what anybody else says.”
While the RHONY cast may have an issue with Jenna’s aforementioned boundaries, she says producers have been “very amenable” and “very open to reducing that exposure.”
“Testing the waters of what you can say ‘no’ to is just something you have to do,” she said.
RHONY will return to Bravo for season 15 in late to mid-2024.
