Garcelle Beauvais says filming RHOBH is the “hardest job” she has ever had and admits that dating while being on reality TV isn’t easy either.
Garcelle Beauvais gets truthful about the reality of working in reality TV.
The RHOBH star appeared on the January 9 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she revealed that starring on Real Housewives is the “hardest job [she’s] ever done.”
As for why starring on the Bravo show is so difficult, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star explained that actors get to “hide behind a character,” while reality stars don’t have that luxury.
“It’s all you,” she notes.
“It’s you, it’s your family, it’s your house,” she confessed.“So sometimes … somebody can dig something up or say something that gets under your skin, and it hurts.”
Garcelle joined the cast of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2020, although her big break in Hollywood came in the 90s with starring roles on Fox’s Model Inc. and The WB’s The Jamie Foxx Show.
Despite joining the ranks of reality television, the RHOBH star has continued to stay active in the TV and film industries.
Garcelle also notes that reality TV impedes her dating life, too.
“That’s tricky because not everybody wants to be on a reality show,” she explained.
Nevertheless, Garcelle loves her job on reality TV and doesn’t see herself walking away from it anytime soon.
“The best part [of the job] is we have a lot of fun,” the RHOBH star admitted. “When we’re not being catty and shading each other, it’s really fun. And the ridiculousness of how we dress, where we go … I mean, ball gowns to lunch if you want to. So it’s fun.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

I just don’t know what to make of Garcelle. On one hand, she laughs at Crystal’s “millennial” (snowflake) mentality and then does the same thing. She owns and takes pride in her own “directness and frankness”, but then scoffs when anyone else is direct and frank with her. Four seasons in, and she’s still the outsider and observer, and from what I sense, still not even remotely close to anyone in the cast (and that includes her scripted friend, Sutton).
You mean the Sutton and Garcelle’s bestest of best friends fake ass friendship doesn’t make you want to spontaneously break out in your own heartfelt rendition of ‘Ebony and Ivory’? Has your heart grown that cold? ?

I don’t think we’ve ever seen Sutton at Garcelle’s house, and I can guarantee you Garcelle has to use GPS to even find Sutton’s Holmby Hills abode (that she only sees when they’re filming).
I am getting very tired of these women claiming that what we are seeing is reality.
We all know it is a set up and we play along with it.
But the reality of these women’s lives? Not a chance!

Exactly … let alone happens episodically. It used to be, these women filmed their lives for months and then it took production months to splice and dice it all together into cohesive story lines. Now they just PLAN and schedule what they are going to do and say … where I’m from, that’s called scripted.
IKR? And they don’t even try to hide it anymore. It was ‘the elephant in the room’ for a hot minute. Then, they’re like, ‘Meh, we’re just going to pretty much embrace the fraud in a half-assed gaslighty kind of way whilst laughing at the rubes behind their backs for buying into it cuz all that matters is dem Benjamins, baby…’
And no wonder why these broads are all failed actresses! None of them make the ruse believable. Then again, I guess that’s pretty challenging given that even Pimp Daddy Cohen uses the term, ‘storyline’… ????
BH is probably the best at acting their roles, but you still get a sense that they’re doing just that … acting their roles. They even often call it “the set” … like WTF?
No kidding, and Garcelle is one of the worst offenders. She’s only saying it because she knows that this gig is several steps DOWN from “legitimate” mainstream acting.
Let’s face it, she isn’t exactly an accomplished actress who would be used to hard work. It would be nice if she tried acting on HW though, to cover up her terrible personality.
