RHONJ’s Louie Ruelas scores legal victory as his “obsessed” ex-fiancée is denied a restraining order after “continuously bothering” him and his family.
Page Six reports that a New Jersey judge ruled in Louie Ruelas‘ favor in his legal case against his ex-fiancée Vanessa Reiser, who previously accused Teresa Giudice’s husband of “stalking.”
“The Court not only dismissed Ms. Reiser’s complaint and denied her application for a permanent restraining order, but also found that she was ‘obsessed’ with Mr. Ruelas, continuously bothering he and his family,” attorney Marco Laracca, who represented the RHONJ husband alongside co-counsel Christopher Errante, told the outlet on Friday, October 27.
“In essence, the court held that the filing of the restraining order was akin to a publicity stunt, ” Laracca adds. “Louie was completely vindicated today and looks forward to putting this all behind him. We thank the court for its lengthy, well-reasoned, and factually supported opinion.”
Meanwhile, Vanessa Reiser’s attorney, Douglas Anton, told Page Six that his client is “relieved” by the court’s findings.
“Our goal was always her protection by exposing the truth about Luis’s offensive conduct,” the celebrity attorney added.
“Indeed, for her protection, we were ‘obsessed’ with proving Luis did this invasive thing so that he never does it again. Vanessa feels completely vindicated and now protected by having outing him for this offensive conduct.”
Louie Ruelas and Vanessa Reiser dated from 2018 to 2020 before he began dating RHONJ star Teresa Giudice and ultimately married her in August 2022.
Earlier this year, the licensed therapist claimed that the RHONJ husband hired a private investigator to “spy” on her at work after a female client began probing her with questions about Louie during their sessions.
Some of the questions Vanessa was allegedly asked included: “Do you still love Luis?” “How was it with your abuser?” and “If [Ruelas] were to leave his wife [Giudice] and show any regret … would you want to be with him?.”
Now, Vanessa’s attorney, Douglas Anton, alleges that testimony was provided that “proved” Louie hired Bo Dietl to “collect” information.
It’s unclear if Vanessa was the target of Dietl’s alleged investigation. The former NYPD detective previously denied he had looked into any members of the RHONJ cast but declined to comment on whether or not Louie hired him to investigate his ex.
“As far as whether he hired us for potential private investigations, that’s confidentiality [sic],” Dietl said.
Anton alleges that Louie “gagged” witnesses and “hid behind” his Fifth Amendment to not “incriminate himself” while also giving the court “limited facts” which prevented them from issuing a fair ruling.
“While we stand firm that it was to harass, we shall have to wait for the truthful trial testimony of Bo Dietl’s and Luis’ agent on her criminal charges, for which probable cause by a judge has already been found,” Anton concludes. “Vanessa simply wants the whole truth to come out so that Luis stops.”
However, Attorney James Leonard Jr., who is Teresa’s longtime lawyer and is part of Louie’s legal team, told Page Six:
“We won, they lost. Period, that’s the end of it. The judge not only rejected their view of the case, she eviscerated it.”
Louie has “categorically” denied Vanessa’s claims about him over the years, which has forced him to fight off various nasty rumors about his character.
“Simply put, the court found that Vanessa Reiser was not credible, was not harassed by Mr. Ruelas, and is not the victim that she has unsuccessfully portrayed herself to be,” Leonard continued.
He added that the court “correctly” determined that Vanessa is “someone who has routinely and repeatedly violated court orders and has an insatiable obsession with Mr. Ruelas and Teresa Giudice that is fueled by a desire to promote herself, her business, and her false narratives at all costs.”
