RHONY star Jessel Taank is poking fun at a recent report that she rents her New York City apartment and only moved to the city for the show.
Earlier this week, gossip account Deux Moi posted some salacious tea about Real Housewives of New York star Jessel Taank.
A fan asked Deux Moi: “Do you have any scoop on the new RHONY ladies?”
Of course, the gossip account was happy to oblige and dropped a bombshell claim about Jessel Taank.
“Yes! Someone just told me Jessel’s apartment is rented, and she moved to NYC for the show, hence why she knew nothing about Tribeca…is that known?” Duex Moi revealed.
This claim made its way around social media, and eventually, Jessel caught wind of it. Naturally, she had to react publicly to the claim.
The RHONY star didn’t deny the report but instead poked fun at it.
“My husband and kids are rented too…found them on Craigslist,” Jessel commented on Taste of Reality‘s Instagram, along with a laughing-crying emoji.
Co-star Brynn Whitfield then came to Jessel’s defense.
“I abhor this sort of bottom-feeder gossip. Who tf cares even if she did? Anyone who would judge someone for renting vs. buying in New York has never lived here. Lol New Yorkers pay per month in rent what most people pay for half a year of mortgage. Leave the place where she raises her kids alone,” Brynn commented.
So, it’s not exactly clear if the Deux Moi report is true. I don’t see why it would be a big deal if Jessel rents her apartment in New York City. Millions of people rent – especially in NYC. Personally, I’m much more interested in whether or not she moved to NYC for the show.
Jessel is 43 years old and lives in Chelsea with her husband, Pavit Randhawa. They share twin sons, Kai and Rio. She works as a fashion publicist.
So, what are fans saying about this report?
“Did everyone miss the event at her home with literal top fashion editors? Who cares if she’s renting or lmao,” one fan commented.
“Jessel is a treasure. She could be renting the fish room and still be a NY queen,” a second fan wrote.
“I like Jessel in small doses, as she will say something out of touch that makes me check out of her scene. Kind of like Shannon Beador from RHOC and Lisa Barlow from RHOSLC,” a third fan commented.
“Guys, it doesn’t matter that she’s renting.. it matters that she didn’t even live in the city until the show,” a fourth fan commented.
“Maybe she was caught off guard??? I’ve never been to NY, and even I know Tribeca is posh. Can I say posh? Is posh over?” another fan quipped.
The Real Housewives of New York airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
