Leah McSweeney Assumes She’s Not Returning For RHONY Reboot

RHONY alum Leah McSweeney plans to sue Bravo

Getting the cold shoulder?

Leah McSweeney assumes she’s “not coming back” to the Real Housewives of New York City for the upcoming reboot.

“I think I’m not coming back,” she admitted on the “We Should Talk” podcast with Gibson Johns. “It’s just the better way to think about it. I mean look, I have to see if they offer me to go back, I have to wait to see who’s on it and which show it is, and whatever … you know I can’t think the what if.”

“I would be like bummed, just because [my] second [season] was just not fun, you know what I mean. I mean maybe the show’s not supposed to be fun though I don’t know,” Leah continued.

“I wanna have fun on my last season, but yeah I just think, OK, I’m not going back,” she added.

In March, Bravo announced they were rebooting the New York Housewives franchise and pressing pause on season 14 for 2022. Bravo noted they are “searching for a diverse group of friends who best reflect one of the most multicultural cities in America.”

Executive producer Andy Cohen told Variety, “You know that we’re at a crossroads for RHONY. We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out where to go. And the plan that we’ve come up with, I think, is a real gift to the fans.”

Andy added, “There are thousands of stories to tell here. This is the most multicultural, diverse, and energetic, and exciting city in America: We are searching for a multicultural group of friends who really best reflect the most exciting city in the country. We’re looking for a group of women who are real friends and who are of diverse backgrounds, races, and religions.”

However, an April report by Radar Online revealed that producers are “not having success”  in the casting department.

An insider claims the criteria for the new ladies are proving to be problematic. Bravo wants already built-in “organic chemistry” to exist between the cast.
