Bethenny Frankel calls it like she sees it, which is why she’s slamming Kim Kardashian over her 16-pound weight loss for her 2022 MET Gala look.
The Kardashians star revealed that she had to lose 16 pounds to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress, designed by Jean Louis and sketched by then rising talent Bob Mackie.
The dress was infamously worn by Marilyn when she sang “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to President John F. Kennedy at his 45th birthday party in 1962 at Madison Square Garden.
“I had to lose 16 pounds to be able to fit it,” Kim confessed to her good friend Lala Anthony on the MET Gala’s red carpet. “It was like a role. I was determined to do it.”
Kim elaborated on how she lost nearly 20 pounds so fast while chatting with Vogue.
The reality TV star went on a no-carb, no-sugar diet. She also ran on the treadmill and wore a sauna suit twice a day. However, she insists: “I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.”
Not surprisingly, many took issue with Kim bragging about starving herself to fit into a dress. The former Real Housewives of New York OG was one of those people. Bethenny took to Instagram on Wednesday, May 4, where she slammed Kim in a nearly two-minute video.
“It’s time we started accepting reality and who we really are and what we really look like. It’s our responsibility to set a good example for young women & men. What we look like is the least interesting thing about us, and that has become a faint memory. #enoughisenough,” Bethenny wrote alongside her video rant.
“Young girls are currently googling what the 16 LB weight loss diet is used to fit into prom dresses,” she continued. “We as mothers and women need to shift the practice of allowing false reality to become reality.”
She added, “And PS. I do have a brand called @skinnygirlbrand which is entirely inclusive & I have multiple books talking about balance in eating & accepting our flaws while creating a healthy relationship with food.”
