Rumors are swirling that Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney have split after 12 years together.
A source tells The Sun that the reality TV couple has been “flip-flopping” about staying together or breaking up for up good. They are currently spending time apart to figure out their relationship.
“Katie and Tom have split and gotten back together and split and gotten back together. They’re currently not together, no. She’s doing her own thing right now,” the insider claimed.
The insider continued: “They flip-flop. They’re still cordial and see each other and go to the same events because of their mutual friend group, but they just focus on themselves. She hasn’t filed for divorce yet, but it’s been discussed. They’re just taking time apart right now and seeing what happens.”
As for what led up to the split, the source notes that it’s “Katie’s story to tell,” adding that it was “her decision” to take time apart from Tom.
“She feels the fault is on him, and he had his chances to be better, but he didn’t step up to the challenge. Now she is focused on her own happiness, something that wasn’t prioritized in their marriage,” the source adds.
The rumors about Katie and Tom’s marriage first began to swirl when Katie shared a photo on Instagram sans her wedding ring.
Around the same time, Tom was seen in a photo rocking his wedding band.

However, fans have some theories of their own, including that Katie doesn’t always wear her wedding ring and that they are “pretending” there’s trouble in paradise to create a storyline for season 10 of Pump Rules.
