Hello NY fans! If you’re like me, Tuesday has just become another day until we get a new RHOBH episode, but in the mean time we have to make do with what we’re given.
We start with Leah trying to learn Hebrew for Black Shabbat (the dinner given by Eboni for her black friends; however the only other black woman in the group wasn’t invited.) Does it make sense to you or am I just missing something here?
Across town, Ramona is working on her real estate license, and while she’s good at numbers, her presentation skills (and sense of direction) may need some work. Also getting to work is Eboni is not giving up and is working with a genetic detective (who knew they existed?) to find her family. Eboni was devastated that Ashley didn’t turn out to be a biological sibling, and coming so close has only made her want to work harder to find her biological family.
Eboni is lending out the people that she does have, as her matchmaker is trying to work her magic for our dear Sonjarita. The date seems to be a dud as Sonja is young at heart and this guy seems like a 20/20 and cup of tea on a Friday night type of guy. In addition, he gripes about his business woes as the market isn’t treating him well, and then goes on to tell Sonja the jelly squirted out of his spine. Um..check please! I don’t know if a villa in the South of France could have even salvaged this date.
The day of Black Sabbath is here (thank goodness Sonja provides comic relief) and the only other Jewish woman in the cast can’t make it, as Leah was exposed to Covid. Leah agrees to appear by Zoom so Eboni isn’t on her own as none of these ladies really understand what Shabbat is. Case in point? The ladies look like they are dressed in Jovani for a cabaret night vs. a religious dinner. The ladies track it all the way to Jersey for the dinner, and with the way this season is going Eboni should have invited the cast of RHONJ as that would have bee amazing crossover worth watching. The dinner is upon us and Ramona is dying at the eclectic setup, and that’s not even including Leah appearing via Zoom which is a disaster. The host of the evening, Archie, has good intentions and gives a sweet speech; however her dinner guests seem to be tipsy and I’m not sure the guests are giving back the vibe she is going for.
Leah’s prayer turns out beautiful and I’m impressed at how well she can sing in Hebrew, as it doesn’t seem to be easy. Unfortunately the sweet part of the dinner ends there as Ramona seems to have compared the Italian community to the black community due to their traditions and relationship to the Jewish people. It makes no sense and I am hoping I heard it wrong and need to watch it again because it utterly confused me. Ramona then puts her foot in her mouth again by saying that she was discriminated against in college for not being Jewish. Needless to say, Ramona saying that she was discriminated against at a table full of black Americans does not go over well and Ramona exits stage left as she loves to do.
Things take a quick dive south as Ramona yells about her plight while Sonja yells at Ramona to shut up so they could listen to the “blacks and Jews.” Yikes. Hang in there NY fans – things aren’t great and it’s only getting worse from here.
RHONY airs Tuesday’s on Bravo.
