Apparently someone must have been drinking and tweeting. Brandi Glanville has never been known to be afraid of speaking her mind, but as we’ve seen on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, this can sometimes get her into trouble. One of her recent tweets may be another one of those instances.
Brandi sent out a tweet that is sure to offend those in the community she referred to.
“Orange IS the new black but for married/taken men in B.H &Hollywood #trannysarethenewblack hubby’s cheat #justsaying,” Brandi tweeted.
Most likely, Brandi is referring to a few celebrities, such as Tyga and Hank Baskett, who have been rumored to have cheated on their significant others with transsexual models.
Brandi then received many tweets telling her she was wrong for using that word. She responded to the criticism, but did not think she said anything wrong.
You would think since Brandi said she is a supporter of the LGBT community, she would know that the word “tranny” is a slur and extremely offensive to those who are transgender or transsexual.
It is never acceptable to use a slur such as this one, but Brandi’s timing on using this one is especially bad as public figures, like Caitlyn Jenner and Laverne Cox, are leading the way for those in the transgender community to gain more acceptance.
