No regrets!
Caroline Manzo and Teresa Giudice have zero regrets about diving into the world of reality TV when they joined the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
The two Jersey Housewives stepped into the spotlight over a decade ago and have gone through some major ups and downs on and off the TV screen but oddly enough, neither regret it at all.
Teresa infamously faced major legal and financial woes and went to prison, as did her ex-husband Joe Giudice. She also battled it out with her family and friends on screen and lost more than one friend and family member in the process.
On the other hand, Caroline suffered a major fallout with her sister and former co-star Dina Manzo. The two haven’t spoken in years and remain estranged. It is believed their fallout is a result of the drama that went down on RHONJ; however, neither have officially confirmed the cause of their estrangement.
The former “thick as thieves” friends both appeared, separately, on Andy Cohen’s new E! show, For Real: The Real Story of Reality TV.
In a preview of their appearance, the NJ Housewives discuss some of the highs and lows they have experienced since joining RHONJ.
To start, Andy asked Teresa, “So, how do you think Caroline has changed?”
“Listen, when I first met Caroline, I respected her because she was Dina’s older sister, and I loved her just like I love Dina,” Tre explained.
She added, “It was it is,” with a sad look on her face.
Flash to Caroline being in the hot seat and Andy asking her, “Is it bittersweet watching that?”
“Sure,” an emotional Caroline admits. Andy then follows up, asking, “What’s bittersweet about that?”
Caroline shuts the Big Daddy of Bravo down and tells him, “I don’t want to talk about that.”
However, Andy isn’t done prodding just yet and brings up her and Dina’s fallout.
“Well, you don’t talk about what happened between you and Dina,” Andy states, to which Caroline confirms with a simple yet emotional, “Mmmhmm.”
“I know you haven’t spoken in years, and she is still friends with Teresa. Were it not for the show, do you think you two would still be okay?” Andy wonders.
“Probably didn’t help,” Caroline confesses of the show. However, Caroline says would NEVER discourage two sisters from doing a reality TV show together.
“Do it,” she notes. “Because what’s meant to be is going to happen.”
She then confirms that the tears in her eyes after watching the clip have to do with the broken relationship between her and Dina.
The clip then pans back to Teresa, who Andy asks: “Do you regret being on the show?”
“No. Now, no regrets. I am the person I am today because of everything I’ve been through,” Teresa reveals. “Listen in life; you go through up and downs to get to where you’re supposed to be.”
While Teresa and Caroline rarely agree on anything, Caroline does agree with Teresa that she has no regrets about appearing on RHONJ.
Caroline calls being on RHONJ “an experience like no other.” She adds that the show gave her a “bond with her children that I would have not had” otherwise.
She’s even thankful for the “friendships that have come and gone” before noting that “when she was in” said friendships, they “were worth every minute.”
“I appreciate that, and that would have never happened if not for the show,” Caroline concludes.
As for why people “love” the Jersey Housewives, Teresa says it’s because “we are real.”
“We literally put it all out there. People can relate to us – we have legal issues, we have family issues, we have it all. What happens in life happens on the Real Housewives of New Jersey,” she adds.
RHONJ airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm EST on BRAVO.
