Bethenny Frankel is undoubtedly the most successful Housewife to come out of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. While many women joined the Real Housewives already having wealth and a luxurious lifestyle in the bag, Bethenny joined RHONY as a broke and struggling natural food chef with entrepreneurial dreams. In a few years, she turned her Skinnygirl brand into a huge success and sold the liquor portion of her business for a reported $120 million.
Around this time, Bethenny left Housewives behind for her own reality TV show that was as short-lived as her marriage to ex-husband Jason Hoppy. Bethenny eventually returned to Housewives and took her brand to new heights. However, after five years back in the Housewives game, Bethenny left RHONY in 2019. She later admitted her huge paycheck was the only thing keeping her on the show.
Now, Bethenny is reflecting on her time spent on the Real Housewives of New York.
When asked what she misses about RHONY, Bethenny gushed about the good times on the show.
“There’s a lot of laughing on the ‘Housewives.’ There’s a lot of satire, and it was fun to react off people. The comedy is funny. The craziness is funny,” she told Variety.
However, she admits she doesn’t miss the constant stress and rollercoaster of emotions filming the show can bring.
“It’s a zero-sum game. Someone’s always winning, and someone’s always losing — and there’s always a gotcha moment,” she said.
As for watching the current season of RHONY, Bethenny confesses that she doesn’t watch ANY of the Real Housewives franchises and notes that it’s NOT because she thinks she’s “better” than the show.
“I don’t watch the shows,” she confessed. “And I know that will be taken as I think I’m better than; I don’t love where I came from. I do love where I came from.”
