Uh-oh, more money, more problems for Erika Jayne.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been slapped with a federal lawsuit that demands she hand over money “fraudulently” transferred to her by her estranged husband, Tom Girardi.
According to Radar Online, the trustee handling Tom’s bankruptcy has filed a civil lawsuit against the longtime reality star. The suit not only names Erika individually but also her companies EJ Global and Pretty Mess Inc.
Tom was forced into Chapter 7 bankruptcy by his creditors, who claim the once famed lawyer screwed them out of tens of millions of dollars. Said clients claim that Tom used the stolen funds to fund his and Erika’s lavish lifestyle.
One lawsuit claims that Erika helped Tom steal millions intended for orphans and widows of the 2018 Lion Air plane crash.
Tom’s bankruptcy trustee claims that the disgraced lawyer signed over his rights from a 2012 court settlement to Erika in the latest lawsuit.
The trustee also alleges that Erika collected $242,658 between 2012 and 2021. She is also set to receive another $78k in payments in 2022 through 2025.
Said trustee recently “intercepted” $19,760 that was sent to Erika. The money is now in a trust account until a judge decides what to do with the money.
However, the trustee wants more from the very fashionable and flashy reality TV star.
The trustee says that Erika received expensive jewelry and other luxury goods from Tom. Tom is accused of assigning rights to the jewelry and “other luxury items” to Erika to hide assets from his creditors.
“Plaintiff is informed and believes and, on that basis alleges thereon that the Debtor and the Defendants conspired to conceal the Transfers and keep these assets away [from] the Debtor’s creditors,” the court documents state.
The lawsuit goes on to trash Erika, saying, “the defendant Erika has used her glamour and notoriety to continue to aid and abet in sham transactions that have occurred with respect to large transfers of assets from the Debtors to the Defendants.”
The trustee also demands that the money and luxury items be turned over to pay off Tom’s creditors.
Erika has yet to speak directly about the allegations but has claimed the jewelry and luxury items she received from Tom are “personal gifts” that she doesn’t want to give up.
