Spotted!

Tom Girardi has been missing in action for quite some time. Now, for the first time in over a year, Tom has been spotted out, and the photos are quite shocking.

The former famed lawyer was recently photographed out in Los Angeles, sporting a black eye. Tom has not been seen since his split from his estranged wife, Erika Jayne.

He had a visibly bruised left eye while being assisted by a caregiver. Tom, who appears to have lost a considerable amount of weight, wore an oversized blue polo and baggy khaki shorts.

This is a far cry from the tailored suit sporting lawyer fans have seen on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

It’s unclear how Tom sustained the black eye, but his estranged wife recently revealed on RHOBH that she believed his health was declining in the months leading up to her filing for divorce in November 2020.

She explained that in 2017 Tom was involved in a car wreck that left him unconscious for 12 hours. Erika cites this incident as the beginning of Tom’s health issues.

Tom is currently under a conservatorship overseen by his brother, Robert Girardi. The conservatorship began in early 2021 after the Girardi family said in court documents that Tom was suffering from a “major neurocognitive disorder.”

In March, Tom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It’s unknown how long he has been suffering from the disease.

On top of Tom’s health issues, he’s also embroiled in various lawsuits. Tom is accused of embezzling millions from his Girardi Keese clients. His former law partners are also suing him for misappropriating their money.

Fans weren’t the only ones confused by Erika Jayne’s story about her estranged husband Tom Girardi’s car accident.

On the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, Crystal Kung Minkoff, and Kathy Hilton all shared their feelings about the claims made by Erika on the July 21 episode of the RHOBH.

On the July 21 episode, the RHOBH cast learned that Tom’s assets had been frozen amid his growing legal issues.

“It was very stressful because you thought, ‘Oh my gosh, you know, we’re seeing this, Erika is seeing this. What kind of mood is she going to be in? How is she going to be feeling?’” Kyle said on the July 29 RHOBH After Show. “You feel bad for what she’s going through, but you don’t know the whole story and the background. It was a lot of us trying to figure out everything that was happening and kind of trying to put the pieces together ourselves. We didn’t know anything, and as you know, Erika is a very private person, so we were like, ‘What is going on?’ We were just trying to wrap our heads around everything.”

Erika then revealed to her co-stars that she found “evidence” that Tom cheated on her. She also claimed that there was much more to Tom’s 2017 car accident than she previously told the group.  Erika retold the story, alleging that Tom was “unconscious for 12 hours” and suffered “a head injury … he broke his shoulder … snapped his ankle and then broke his clavicle.”

She previously only told the ladies that Tom “broke his ankle.”

“My ears perked up a little bit,” Sutton said on the After Show. “I just didn’t know why we were all the sudden talking about this accident and why we’re talking about this head injury. It was a confusing story. I got a little uncomfortable; I’m not gonna lie. And then I think the rest of the girls who knew this story about some car accident were hearing new information from Erika this time around.”

Dorit noted that she “knew” about Tom’s accident but admitted, “this was the first time that I was hearing the gravity of the accident.”

Kyle said it was “strange” to learn that Tom’s accident was “way worse” than the group initially knew.

“I thought, ‘Well, I wonder why she didn’t tell us that at the time,’ but, you know, in hindsight now I’m thinking maybe because he was going through some mental decline of some sort and maybe they didn’t want that out there publicly because he was running this law firm,” Kyle told sister Kathy. “Maybe it was none of our business because she was scared to say how bad the accident was.”
