Raquel Leviss is getting honest about her split with James Kennedy.

The Vanderpump Rules star appeared on costar Scheana Shay’s podcast, “Scheananigans” podcast Friday, where she revealed she had an exit plan in place before calling off her engagement from James.

The 27-year-old SURver admitted that she was “concerned” about how James would react when she ended their relationship, which is why she had a strategic plan in place.

“It was kind of at Thanksgiving where I realized that I didn’t want to be in this relationship anymore,” Raquel explained.

“And because James does have a history of acting out and being angry, my mom and I were both concerned that he wasn’t going to have a good reaction when I told him, so I wasn’t planning on saying anything until he went out of town,” she added. “He doesn’t even know this.”

Days after realizing she wanted to end her relationship with James, the Pump Rules couple headed to Disneyland with costars Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix.

“I felt like I had to put on an act for that, just to make sure that I was safe. Disneyland just isn’t as fun when you aren’t in love with the person that you’re with anymore, so it wasn’t my favorite experience,” she said. “I’m so happy that Ariana and Tom came.”

Raquel says she and James eventually ended their 5-year relationship after watching an episode of Vanderpump Rules.

The former couple got into an argument while watching Pump Rules in preparation for the season 9 reunion, which was taped in early December.

She explained to James that he “didn’t support [her] emotionally” while filming season 9. This news upset the DJ.

“He was like, ‘Oh, I didn’t know that you felt that way.’ And the conversation just kept going … and it was like word vomit. ‘This is how I’ve been feeling, and I can’t keep it in any longer because I’m not being an honest person, and I’m lying to you, and I don’t feel comfortable with this,’” she recalled. “So I just told him that my heart isn’t in it anymore.”

Raquel also told James that she doesn’t like the way he  “[treats] other people” and that “a piece of me dies inside each time you mistreat somebody.”

He attempted to do whatever he could to mend their relationship, asking, “So he’s like, ‘What do I need to do? Can I change your mind? Is there anything? Please give me another chance.’”

However, Raquel told him that she wasn’t interested in staying together.

“He was like, ‘OK, I see it in your eyes. It’s over,’” she said of James’ reaction.

“He was listening to me. I was preparing for the worst, and it was the best possible outcome, I guess, that it could have been because he really did listen to me and was understanding of where I was coming from,” she said. “He respected my decision. ‘If your heart isn’t in it anymore, then I understand; we need to go our separate ways.’”

Raquel was having second thoughts about marrying James because he wasn’t “meshing well” with her family.

“The future of Thanksgivings and Christmases and holidays was looking like it was going to be either James’ or my family. Especially if we had a baby, James would make my parents out as the not-good grandparents and kind of put that in [our kids’] heads,” she claimed. “Foreseeing this future and what it was all coming down to, and I was like … I don’t want that.”

Scheana Shay defended her morganite engagement ring from Brock Davies and the fact that they decided to get a prenup before saying ‘I do.’

Following Tuesday’s episode of Vanderpump Rules, Scheana shot down criticism over her engagement ring not being a diamond.

“It’s morganite. Not actually a diamond,” one fan tweeted, to which Scheana replied, “It’s still 12.74 carats. Why does it matter what stone?”

“I didn’t want a Diamond. Morganites are beautiful and have so much meaning,” Scheana added.

She also insisted that Tom Sandoval didn’t put any money down on her engagement and that Brock paid for it all; however, she notes he didn’t pay $25k for the ring.

“No, he didn’t,” Scheana said when asked, “if tom had to put money down for [Brock].”

Scheana continued, “It’s an honest answer. And [Brock] didn’t have to pay that much either. Kyle hooked it up.”

“The ring is actually worth more than that we found out too. They like to hear how much things cost on the show. Whether or not that’s what we pay is another story. He was charged on his credit cards, but it’s no one’s business how much.”

Fans then began to discuss Scheana and Brock’s decision to get a prenup. While some fans believe it’s a smart move, others think it proves Scheana has doubts that her marriage to Brock won’t last the long haul.

One fan told Scheana, “When you are talking prenups, that means you have some@doubt it isn’t going to work.” 

Another fan came to Scheana’s defense, saying, “I believe that is a sweet but naive thought. Marriage is a financial transaction as well as a commitment. I know firsthand because I did not have one. Hard life-changing lesson.”

Scheana agreed, “Same. I didn’t have one my first time around, and that was a mistake.”
