Andy Cohen is giving major praise to Ciara Miller after the explosive first part of the Summer House reunion.

This morning, Andy appeared on SiriusXM’s Smith Sisters Live with Lauren, Rachel and Mariah Smith, where he recapped part one of the Summer House reunion and shared some behind the scenes details from the chaotic taping.

The reunion centered heavily around the fallout from Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s romance, which blindsided both Ciara and Amanda’s estranged husband, Kyle Cooke. Ciara, who previously dated West and had been close friends with Amanda for years, came into the reunion ready to say exactly how she felt.

According to Andy, she was more prepared than almost anyone he has ever seen sit on a reunion couch.

“I have never seen anyone more ready and sat for a reunion as Ciara was. I mean, she was clear, confident, budding, strong, intelligent, you know, everything that she came to do. When she walked out, I said to her, “You know, you must feel like you could go like climb a mountain now that you’ve done this.” I mean, it was like you’ve got to feel good about saying everything that you had to say, you know, and it seemed like she left nothing on the table, you know?”

Andy said part of the challenge of hosting the reunion was that every cast member had something they wanted to get out.

“But by the way, you know, it was really being a traffic cop because they all had so much to say that it’s like, you know, it’s like just kind of trying to parse through it and make sure everyone, you know, gets their say,” Andy explained.

Ciara had plenty to say during the reunion, especially after Amanda and West were confronted for hiding their connection from the group for weeks. In the episode, Ciara called out Amanda for not being honest with her when rumors first started circulating about Amanda and West.

Ciara also gave one of the reunion’s most cutting reads when she said Amanda and West might actually last because Amanda would not check West in the relationship.

But Ciara’s takedown was not the only shocking moment Andy discussed.

Andy also opened up about the cast reacting to West’s leaked nude photos while they were getting ready to start filming the reunion.

“When West sat down and started talking about the nudes and they’re all like, “Is it hard? Is it soft?” Then Jesse, I don’t know if they showed this last night, but Jesse then showed him the picture of what he had been sent. I mean, just reunion first left and right,” Andy said.

Lauren Smith asked Andy whether moments like that make him wonder if the cast realizes he can hear them, or if he is simply listening in.

Andy admitted he was fully paying attention.

“I was listening,” Andy said.

He clarified that the moment happened before the reunion officially started filming.

“It was when we were getting ready. It was not, we had not started the reunion. We were, everyone was entering. It was, you know, it was when we were getting ready. It comes up again later in the group. And so you’ll, you know, you’ll see how it plays out that revelation in the group. But yeah I was, you know, I’m glad that they found that moment. It’s crazy.”

Andy then acknowledged just how rough that day must have been for West.

“And you know, I mean, look, West, I mean, it would be a person’s worst day ever to have nudes leaked, to have them leaked on that day and then he left and found out the news of his grandmother. I don’t think that you could have a worse day,” Andy said.

West was already walking into the reunion under heavy scrutiny because of his romance with Amanda, his complicated history with Ciara and the emotional fallout within the Summer House friend group. The leaked photo situation only added another layer of chaos to an already tense day.

Andy also said he was surprised by how calm Amanda and West appeared before walking into such a dramatic reunion.

“I was also stunned and hopefully it came through about how calm West and Amanda were in their room before the show. I was like, “Oh,” Andy recalled.

Based on Andy’s reaction, she came into the reunion with a mission, delivered everything she needed to say and walked out with nothing left unsaid.
