New details about RHOP OG Karen Huger’s very serious car crash have emerged following the news of her DUI. Get all the tea!
RHOP’s Karen Huger was swaying and reeked of alcohol following her shocking car crash last Tuesday night in Potomac, Maryland.
According to the police report obtained by TMZ, officers noted that the Real Housewives of Potomac star had “slurred speech and bloodshot eyes when they arrived on the scene.”
Karen also reportedly “didn’t answer when cops asked her twice how much she had to drink.”
Officers noted that the 60-year-old reality star had “2 closed bottles of the alcoholic beverage Stella inside her vehicle.”
While the police believed Karen Huger to be intoxicated, she “declined to undergo a field sobriety test or a breathalyzer.” She also refused any medical care or sat on a stretcher and was checked out by paramedics at the crash scene.
On top of that, the Bravo star told police she didn’t want to be recorded, which is when they told her she was being filmed on their bodycam footage.
Karen was ultimately arrested for DUI and driven to the police station. She was issued citations and released into the custody of her husband, Raymond Huger.
The Grand Dame of Potomac was charged with driving under the influence and has also been slapped with numerous traffic violations, including “negligent and reckless driving to driving way over the speed limit and driving with a suspended registration.”
According to police, Karen “struck a median and crosswalk sign at an intersection before continuing on and colliding with a parking sign off the roadway.”
Photos show that the RHOP star “swerved off the road…leaving lots of skids and torn-up grass before slamming into a tree [and] taking a big chunk of the bark with her. “
The RHOP OG has yet to publicly address the DUI charges.
This isn’t the first Karen has been charged with driving under the influence. Over a decade ago, long before she starred, on RHOP, Karen pled guilty to “Driving While Impaired By Alcohol” and received probation.
