Steven McBee Jr. is opening up about why watching Season 3 of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys has been emotional for him.

In a new interview with Decider, Steven reflected on his relationship with Allie Eklund, which is currently playing out on the show despite the fact that the two have already publicly broken up in real life.

When asked how he looks back at this chapter of his life, Steven admitted that watching the season has been difficult because of how happy he was at the time.

“I’m grateful for it, but it is very bittersweet to watch it back,” Steven said. “Obviously, hindsight is 20/20. You know, it’s a tough watch because at the time, I was very, very happy. I thought I’d found the person I was going to be with forever.”

Despite the breakup and everything that has happened publicly since, Steven said he still has love and respect for Allie and her family.

“I still think the world of her and her family. I absolutely adore her family,” he shared.

Steven’s comments come as fans continue watching the early stages of his relationship with Allie unfold on McBee Dynasty. Off camera, however, the two split in April after Steven accused Allie of cheating at Stagecoach Music Festival, which Allie denied. Steven later apologized for his comments and said he would seek therapy.

Steven also addressed his current mindset after his brother Cole McBee recently said Steven is in the “best mental headspace” he has ever been in.

According to Steven, he had already started doing personal work before things ended with Allie, but the breakup led him to take additional steps.

“Yeah, I already did a lot of work on myself prior to anything happening between Allie and me,” Steven said. “Obviously, I’ve taken additional steps since then. I’ve really come to an internal peace.”

Steven said he is now focused on himself, his family and the businesses.

“I know what I like to do; I know how I like to spend my life. I feel happy with myself and what I’m doing with my family. I don’t need anyone else to find fulfillment,” he explained. “I would love to be with someone who enjoys my lifestyle, but that is not a requirement for me right now. I’m pouring myself into my family and the businesses.”

Steven also looked back on the tense conversation with his soon-to-be sister-in-law Kacie Adkison about her tallow skincare business.

During a recent episode, Steven suggested a profit split where Kacie would get 40 percent, McBee Farms would get 40 percent and Allie would get 20 percent if Allie helped with marketing and scaling the brand.

The conversation did not sit well with Kacie, and Steven now admits he would handle it differently.

“For sure. I would go about the conversation a lot more respectfully,” Steven said. “Because of my prior business experience, I feel like I came across a little bit prideful or arrogant. I did not mean to do that. I wish I had been a bit more humble and more open to her suggestions.”

When asked if he could promise that he would never offer a girlfriend a 20 percent stake in any part of his business again, Steven did not hesitate.

“I absolutely promise you that will not be happening ever again,” he said.

Steven also addressed his now-talked-about “dream girl” list, which has sparked plenty of conversation among viewers.

While the list included specific qualities he hoped for in a future partner, Steven explained that it was more about manifestation than strict rules.

“Yes, the blonde hair,” Steven joked when asked if he had added or subtracted anything from the list. “I’m open to any hair color. I think that was a little bit too niche.”

He added, “Also, that whole dream wife list…I think a lot of people thought that I require a hard set list of rules. It was more of a manifestation. Like, ‘hey, what is your dream life? What does your perfect day look like? What does you perfect wife look like if you could draw this up picture perfect?’ It is very similar to setting your five-year goals. That’s all that was.”

Steven also gave an update on the ongoing tension between Galyna Saltkovska and Masha, making it clear the feud has not cooled down.

When asked if the two women can co-exist, Steven laughed and said no.

“No, it is not possible for them to co-exist,” Steven said. “We were just laughing about it because they’re still getting in fights.”

Steven revealed that the family has to use a third-party mediator when it comes to coordinating visits with his father, Steve McBee Sr., in prison.

“You have to go through a third-party mediator to coordinate who gets to visit my dad on what the weekends,” Steven explained.

He also shared one wild story about both women allegedly showing up at the prison on the same weekend.

“There was a weekend where both Masha and Galyna showed up at prison to visit,” Steven said. “We thought both of them were going to end up in prison themselves. So yeah, there is no way for them co-exist.”

Season 3 of McBee Dynasty has been especially layered for Steven, as viewers are watching him fall hard for Allie while knowing the relationship has already ended.

But Steven seems to be taking accountability for what he would do differently, especially when it comes to business and relationships.

And while he once thought Allie was his forever, Steven says he is now focused on finding peace, being with his family and pouring himself into the future of the McBee businesses.
