Kandi Burruss may no longer be holding a peach, but her name is still very much part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta conversation.

The longtime RHOA star, who announced her exit from the Bravo franchise in 2024, is now responding after K. Michelle appeared to throw shade at her and her friend group during the Season 17 reunion.

During the reunion, Shamea Morton was asked about previously saying that some of her friends did not want her getting close to K. Michelle. Shamea named Kandi, who she has been close with for years, along with a few other women.

When Shamea referred to the group as “people that K don’t get along with,” K. Michelle quickly responded, “The mean girls of Atlanta.”

Now, Kandi is clapping back.

While appearing on The Big Tigger Morning Show, Kandi was asked about K. Michelle seemingly labeling her a mean girl — and Kandi made it clear she does not think K. Michelle has room to talk.

“I personally feel that mean girls can’t call other girls mean girls,” Kandi said. “It doesn’t work like that.”

Kandi then brought up K. Michelle’s reality TV history, pointing out that viewers have watched the singer have plenty of heated moments on camera over the years, especially during her time on Love & Hip Hop.

“We’ve seen her like literally go in on people multiple times on camera, on television,” Kandi said.

Kandi added that K. Michelle has also been seen “calling people out their names” and “doing all the things.”

Because of that, Kandi said she does not understand how K. Michelle can label other women mean girls when she has had her own controversial moments on reality TV.

“And with that I have to say, if I’m a mean girl, she was a mean girl, too,” Kandi said.

Kandi then made it clear that her energy depends on how someone treats her.

“If you are not nice to me, I am not nice to you,” she added.

The tension between Kandi and K. Michelle is not exactly random. Both women have history in the music industry, and K. Michelle has had past issues with people in Kandi’s circle. So when Shamea brought up that some of her friends were not exactly encouraging a friendship with K. Michelle, it was not surprising that the moment turned into reunion drama.

Kandi’s response also comes as RHOA continues to move forward without her as a full-time cast member. Season 17 currently stars Porsha Williams, Drew Sidora, Phaedra Parks, Angela Oakley, Kelli Potter, Shamea Morton and K. Michelle, with Cynthia Bailey appearing as a friend of the show.
