Jax Taylor is making serious accusations against his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, as their divorce continues to get messier.
The Valley star is accusing Brittany of allegedly trying to “sabotage” his career after his now-viral fake Smartwater brand partnership became a public controversy.
“Yesterday was just another example of Brittany going out of her way to publicly embarrass and humiliate me,” Jax exclusively told Us Weekly.
According to Jax, the situation could have been handled privately, but he claims Brittany chose to make it public.
“Instead of reaching out privately to address the situation, she chose to contact the brand, laugh about it on her podcast, and post false accusations on social media, turning something that could have been handled privately into a public spectacle,” Jax said.
Jax then alleged that this is part of a larger pattern amid their ongoing divorce.
“Unfortunately, this has become a pattern,” he continued. “It’s just another example of her ongoing attempts to damage my reputation, interfere with my ability to work and earn a living, and make it as difficult as possible for me to move forward and rebuild my life.”
The drama started after Jax posted what appeared to be a Smartwater partnership. However, the brand deal was later revealed to be unauthorized, leading Jax to address the situation publicly on Friday, July 31.
Jax claimed he made a “simple mistake” and believed the opportunity was legitimate because it came through VideoForce.ai, a creator platform.
“A few weeks ago, I accepted what I believed was a legitimate campaign opportunity through a third party influencer platform, like many creators use,” Jax wrote in a statement shared on social media.
He continued, “I received the offer, emails, creative brief and deliverables. I trusted a platform that turned out not to be legitimate. As soon as I was notified that the campaign was unauthorized, I removed the content immediately. I have never and would never intentionally misrepresent a partnership.”
Brittany also addressed the fake brand partnership on her podcast and pushed back on being blamed for the situation.
“I opened that DM [about the situation] LIVE while recording a podcast,” Brittany alleged.
She added, “Blame people for their awful actions, not the person who is having to live with it daily. I’m done.”
Jax and Brittany separated more than two and a half years ago and have been trying to finalize their divorce for nearly two years. The former couple married in June 2019 and share one son, Cruz, who was born in 2021.
Jax told Us Weekly that he has been focusing on his sobriety, mental health and becoming a better father during this time.
“During that time, I’ve worked incredibly hard on my sobriety, my mental health and becoming the best father I can be,” Jax said.
He claimed he stayed quiet for the sake of their son, but said it has become increasingly difficult.
“I’ve stayed silent for the past year out of respect for Cruz and because I believed taking the high road was the right thing to do,” Jax said. “But staying silent while Brittany continues to lie about me publicly and find any opportunity to humiliate me has been incredibly difficult.”
Jax also spoke about their ongoing divorce proceedings, claiming that a recent court appearance did not move things forward.
“Last week we spent eight hours in court hoping to finally move this divorce forward, but it went nowhere because Brittany had not provided the financial disclosures that were required and came completely unprepared,” he alleged.
Jax further claimed that Brittany has been subpoenaed by her own attorneys because she allegedly failed to provide information they needed.
“She has also been subpoenaed by her own attorneys because she’s failed to provide the information they needed,” Jax said.
He also denied Brittany’s previous claims about his taxes.
“My attorney has also gone on record confirming that she has never had to pay for my taxes, despite her continuing to publicly claim otherwise,” Jax stated. “This process has dragged on way longer than it should, and I just want to close this chapter and move on with my life.”
Jax also alleged that Brittany has interfered with multiple career opportunities, including what he says was a planned appearance on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
“On top of that, every time I’ve been presented with an opportunity to rebuild my career, those opportunities have been interfered with by Brittany,” Jax claimed.
He alleged that Brittany contacted networks and brand opportunities he had secured, resulting in jobs being “jeopardized or lost.”
“Her actions have directly impacted my ability to work, support myself and earn a living,” Jax said.
Jax then claimed that he was set to film Special Forces before the opportunity was pulled shortly before he was supposed to leave.
“I was set to film this season of Special Forces and after all the paperwork completed and taking multiple vaccines and my uniform in hand the offer was retracted days prior to me leaving,” Jax alleged.
He claimed he later found out Brittany had contacted the show.
“I came to find out that Brittany contacted them and once again interfered with an amazing job opportunity that would have helped me move forward,” he claimed.
Jax and Brittany’s divorce has been one of the most talked-about storylines surrounding The Valley, especially as both continue to speak publicly about their split, co-parenting and the fallout from their marriage.
For now, Jax is accusing Brittany of trying to damage his career and public image, while Brittany has made it clear she is tired of being blamed for his controversies.
And judging by Jax’s latest claims, this divorce battle is only getting more bitter.
