Bronwyn Newport is getting candid about her separation — and she’s not holding back about how The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City played a role in changing the dynamic of her marriage.
In a new interview with People, the RHOSLC star opened up about where things really stand with her estranged husband Todd (Bradley), revealing that despite announcing their split in December, the two are still living under the same roof — and navigating a very unconventional situation.
According to Bronwyn, the decision to separate wasn’t made lightly, and it definitely wasn’t something she planned to play out on camera.
“I agreed to put my life on camera, and that can’t just be the things that benefit me or the things that are easy or the things that are happy,” Bronwyn shared, explaining why she chose to be open about such a personal chapter.
Still Living Together After the Split
In a surprising twist, Bronwyn revealed that she and Todd are still cohabitating — not because they’re reconciling, but because of their shared life and even their dogs.
“We might be the only people in the world who don’t have young children who are nesting,” she joked, explaining that they’re still under one roof largely because of their five dogs.
Despite the separation, Bronwyn made it clear there is still care and respect between them — even if the romantic relationship has shifted.
“I really care about Todd. That’s not something that turns off overnight,” she said.
How RHOSLC Changed the Marriage Dynamic
While Bronwyn was careful not to blame the show entirely, she admitted that RHOSLC brought out a different side of their relationship — and not in a good way.
She described the show as creating a “weird dynamic” in their marriage, explaining that watching the season back was a turning point for her.
“It was really eye-opening,” Bronwyn said, noting that seeing herself on screen made her reevaluate the relationship and how she was showing up emotionally.
She added that although the cameras didn’t cause their issues, the pressure and changes that came with filming definitely highlighted problems that already existed.
A Quiet Summer — and Then Reality Hit
Interestingly, Bronwyn shared that after filming wrapped, she and Todd actually had a peaceful period together, especially as she mourned the loss of her father.
She said Todd was very supportive during that time, and for a while, it felt like they had reconnected.
But once the episodes began airing — and she saw the tension play out on screen — it brought back issues she thought they had moved past.
“It was almost like that magical summer hadn’t happened,” she explained.
Turning 40 and Choosing Herself
Another major factor in her decision was turning 40 and reflecting on life after losing her father.
Bronwyn explained that hitting that milestone made her realize she needed to prioritize herself and make choices that felt true to what she wanted for her future — even if they were hard.
She described the separation as scary, emotional, and not what she originally envisioned for her life, but also something she felt was necessary for her growth.
The Double Date Bombshell ?
In true Housewives fashion, Bronwyn also dropped a moment that had fans doing a double take.
She joked that one day, she would actually love to go on a double date with Todd and his future girlfriend — and made it clear she’d have plenty of opinions.
“I would love to go out with Todd and somebody new for him in the future,” she said, adding that she would likely “terrorize” whoever he dates — all in good humor.
While said playfully, the comment shows just how complex — and strangely friendly — their post-split dynamic has become.
Where Bronwyn Stands Now
Bronwyn admitted that life after the split hasn’t been easy, especially without her father and without Todd in the same role he once played in her life.
Still, she’s hopeful about what’s next.
“It’s not where I hoped for us to be,” she shared. “But from where we are, I can see wonderful things for both of us.”
