As Shahs of Sunset alumni resurface around Bravo’s new spinoff, Mercedes “MJ” Javid is making it clear where she stands when it comes to Mike Shouhed — and who, quietly, still hasn’t cut ties.
While promoting The Valley: Persian Style ahead of its premiere, MJ opened up about her current relationship with her former Shahs of Sunset castmate, revealing that although they’re no longer close, Mike still remains connected to certain members of the group.
MJ confirmed she’s not actively in touch with Mike following his legal issues, which included multiple domestic violence-related charges. The case ultimately ended with Mike completing a diversion program, after which many of his charges were dismissed. Still, MJ says their communication hasn’t been completely nonexistent.
“I chose not to support Mike in his journey, but I’ve always wished him well and sent messages of love and healing,” MJ told Decider. “That sounds corny, but I really, really do.”
According to MJ, Mike has reached out to her sporadically — including during a vulnerable time in her own life.
“He checked in with me when my news of the divorce and the separation came into the media,” she said, referencing her October 2025 decision to file for divorce from Tommy Feight after seven years of marriage.
But while MJ has kept her distance, she acknowledged that Mike hasn’t been equally disconnected from everyone in the group.
“He’s still friends and talks all the time with Reza and also with Shervin,” she revealed, referring to Reza Farahan and Shervin Roohparvar.
MJ also shared an awkward moment that underscored how complicated those lingering bonds remain. She recalled being on FaceTime with Shervin when he ran into Mike at the gym — and suddenly found herself being confronted.
“He grabbed the phone and he was like, ‘Why can’t you call me back?’” MJ said. “And I was like, ‘I don’t know. I mean, I didn’t feel like I owed you a call.’”
Despite everything, MJ admitted that some connection still exists.
“It’s just like that bond is there,” she said.
Not everyone from Shahs of Sunset shares that sentiment.
Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, who is also part of The Valley: Persian Style cast, made it clear she cut ties with Mike long before his legal troubles became public.
“I stopped being close with Mike around … I don’t know what year it was … it was like our Season 4 or something like that when we had a situation and there was never really a full recovery from that,” GG explained during a Zoom interview.
She added, “But we have very different outlooks on life and very different views. I wish him and his family the absolute best.”
GG’s own name has made headlines in recent months following allegations made by Paulina Ben-Cohen, who filed a temporary restraining order against her in March 2025. According to court documents cited by People, Ben-Cohen accused GG of confronting her at a Los Angeles mall, making derogatory remarks, and physically attacking her.
When asked about those accusations, GG made it clear she had no intention of engaging.
“I really cannot speak on that vermin, so I will not speak on her,” she said. “She’s irrelevant from my life and everything.”
As Shahs of Sunset continues to evolve through new iterations and shifting alliances, MJ’s comments highlight an uncomfortable reality: while some relationships have been intentionally severed, others remain quietly intact — even after everything that’s happened.
And as the spinoff moves forward, those unresolved connections are once again finding their way back into the conversation.
