As Bravo continues to fine-tune the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, it’s clear that Teresa Giudice, longtime OG and fan favorite, is still very much part of the conversation. Despite not participating in the recent round of test-filming, Teresa’s presence looms large over the future of the franchise.

According to a source who spoke exclusively to Us Weekly, “Some of The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast have test-filmed,” noting that “there are potential new cast members who filmed with Margaret Josephs, Dolores Catania and Melissa Gorga in mid-August.” While test-filming is a routine part of the casting process, it’s what comes next that fans are waiting for.
One name being considered for the new season is podcast host Michelle Barone, who, according to social media, “is friendly with original cast member Teresa Giudice and Jackie Goldschneider.” That detail alone speaks volumes: even without test-filming, Teresa’s social circle is helping shape the future cast.
Importantly, Teresa hasn’t been counted out. The insider confirmed that although Teresa, Jackie, and Jen Fessler did not participate in the early test shoots, they “are still in consideration to be part of the new season.” A Bravo spokesperson backed up the uncertainty, saying, “No official casting decisions have been made.”

With RHONJ on hiatus since season 14 wrapped in August 2024, speculation about the next chapter has only intensified. The last season saw a noticeable split in the cast, with “Teresa, Jackie, and Jennifer Aydin on one side and Margaret, Melissa, Danielle Cabral and Rachel Fuda on the other.” In the middle of the tension were Dolores and Jen Fessler, who “tried their best to stay neutral.”
Despite the drama, Teresa continues to be a central figure. Her alliances, influence, and fan base remain strong, and even Bravo’s top brass seem to acknowledge her importance. Andy Cohen shut down any rumors of cancellation, clarifying on The View, “It was really on a deep pause, and we are actively there casting and looking at the future of what that will be. It’s a great franchise, and we love it. I just have to reiterate that.”
When asked two months later on Watch What Happens Live about what’s next for RHONJ, Andy kept it brief but encouraging: “We’re close.”
With casting decisions still up in the air and test shoots ongoing, one thing is certain: Teresa Giudice’s legacy on The Real Housewives of New Jersey isn’t going anywhere.
