Dolores Catania, the longtime star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, recently shared candid thoughts about her ongoing connection to the RHONJ cast and her excitement for Bravo’s latest franchise expansion, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
Speaking to E! News, Dolores expressed enthusiasm about the new series and her surprising ties to the Rhode Island cast. “I think it’s amazing,” she said. “I know some of the girls and you are in for a treat. You think we’re Italian? They paint the streets with the Italian flag in Rhode Island. They’re feisty.”
Although rumors swirl about a potential cameo, Dolores kept her cards close to her chest. “Stay tuned,” she teased, leaving fans eager for more.
While the future of RHONJ remains uncertain following the show’s pause after season 14, Dolores made it clear that no other franchise can truly replace the unique bond she and her castmates share with viewers. “New Jersey’s in a league of its own,” the 54-year-old said. “So, I think that it won’t [fill the void], only because you’ve made relationships with us. We remind you of your aunt or your mom or your cousins. I think it’s the people that you miss even more than the show.”
Dolores admitted, “I miss everything about filming. I miss the good times and the bad times. It’s a relationship I’ve been doing for over eight years now and you miss the people that you saw so often. It’s like a bad breakup.”
Despite the challenges of the show’s hiatus, she appreciates the ongoing support from fans. “I’ve gotten so much support over the years and I can’t thank everybody enough for that,” she said warmly. “It means the world to me. Like, I want to bring everyone over the house. I don’t care if it’s a million people, I want everyone to sleep over and stay.”
When asked about her current relationships with her RHONJ castmates off camera, Dolores shared that she stays connected with almost everyone. “I spoke to almost everyone today,” she revealed. “I keep in touch with all of them: Jen Fessler, Margaret Josephs, Melissa [Gorga], Teresa [Giudice], Danielle Cabral. The Jersey girls are tied. I really hope we come back.”
Notably absent from that list were Jennifer Aydin and Rachel Fuda.
