Bronwyn Newport is calling out Angie Katsanevas, claiming the woman she knew before The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is very different from the person she sees today.
During Bravo Fan Fest in Charleston, Bronwyn opened up about how reality television has changed some of her relationships, including her once-close friendship with Lisa Barlow and her growing frustration with Angie.
In a video obtained by TikTok user IloveTVclips, Bronwyn admitted that while she wasn’t part of the original RHOSLC cast, she knew several of the women long before joining the show.
“I wasn’t an OG so I didn’t see them from the beginning but I did know the girls outside of the show before I joined,” Bronwyn explained.
She first addressed her former friendship with Lisa Barlow, making it clear that she does not expect the two to reconcile.
“Obviously Lisa’s and my friendship is gone to hell and back,” Bronwyn said.
But she quickly corrected herself.
“Well, not back actually, probably never back.”
Bronwyn and Lisa’s friendship has been one of the most complicated relationships on RHOSLC since Bronwyn joined the franchise in Season 5.
The women had known each other socially before filming, and Bronwyn initially considered Lisa one of her closest connections within the group.
However, their friendship deteriorated as disagreements over loyalty, personal boundaries and comments involving Bronwyn’s family became major storylines.
Bronwyn has previously said she believed their relationship was much closer than Lisa apparently did, eventually reaching the point where she no longer wanted to repair the friendship.
But while Bronwyn’s falling-out with Lisa has been well documented, her latest comments suggest she is also beginning to question her relationship with Angie.
Unlike some of the women Bronwyn met through RHOSLC, Angie was someone she already knew through Salt Lake City’s social and charitable circles.
And according to Bronwyn, the Angie she sees on television is not the same woman she interacted with before they became costars.
“I knew Angie quite a bit too and I’m always shocked by things that come out of Angie’s mouth when we’re doing the show,” Bronwyn revealed.
She then suggested that Angie’s comments about her have extended beyond filming.
“Or she said something nasty about me in the press the other day,” Bronwyn added.
Bronwyn did not identify the specific interview she was referring to, but Angie recently discussed Bronwyn’s dating life while speaking to E! News.
During that interview, Angie reacted to Bronwyn’s brief relationship with model Brandon Good and joked about Bronwyn previously saying she had dated several other men since their split.
Although Angie initially offered positive remarks about Bronwyn enjoying her single life, she also made comments about how quickly Bronwyn appeared to be moving on romantically.
Bronwyn did not confirm whether that interview was the one she found offensive.
Still, she made it clear that Angie’s behavior has surprised her.
“That’s not the Angie I used to know in kind of the charity world and Salt Lake before we did the show together,” Bronwyn said.
The remarks are particularly interesting because Bronwyn and Angie have previously managed to repair their relationship after some fairly harsh disagreements.
During RHOSLC Season 5, Angie made headlines after a private message she wrote about Bronwyn was exposed during the season finale.
The message contained insulting remarks about Bronwyn’s marriage to Todd Bradley, leaving viewers questioning whether the women would be able to move forward.
However, Bronwyn later said she was willing to forgive Angie and did not want the disagreement to permanently damage their relationship.
By Season 6, Bronwyn had grown closer to Angie, Mary Cosby and Whitney Rose, even as her relationship with Lisa continued to deteriorate.
Bronwyn previously credited Mary with helping her and Angie resolve another disagreement after Mary arranged a phone conversation between the women and encouraged them to apologize to each other.
At the time, Bronwyn suggested she and Angie had moved beyond their differences.
But the latest comments at Bravo Fan Fest suggest that their friendship may once again be experiencing tension.
