Meredith Marks is threatening legal action against Whitney Rose after an old video resurfaced of Whitney making explosive allegations about Meredith’s alleged airplane confrontation with Britani Bateman.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars have spent months giving conflicting accounts of what happened during the now-infamous flight, but Meredith appears to have had enough of Whitney continuing to discuss the incident.
On Instagram, Meredith questioned whether it was time to file a defamation lawsuit against her costar and even took a shot at Whitney’s finances in the process.
The latest drama began when a fan account resurfaced footage from a drag brunch in February 2026, where Whitney made several claims about Meredith and Lisa Barlow.
In the video, Whitney insisted that she personally witnessed what happened aboard the flight and accused Meredith and Lisa of lying about the incident.
“I was on the plane. Meredith is f*cking lying. Lisa Barlow is lying,” Whitney told the crowd.
Whitney then suggested there were legal issues preventing the full story from coming out.
“The only reason you don’t know the truth is because there are lawsuits from people way bigger than me,” she claimed. “I can lose my job over this. The people that protect those bitches from lying.”
Whitney continued with another allegation.
“Meredith accosted Britani on the airplane.”
The resurfaced footage quickly caught the attention of Lisa and Meredith, who both pushed back.
Lisa reposted the video with the word “slander,” accompanied by heart emojis.
Meredith took things considerably further.
“Yes it was a full flight. A lot of people were on the plane but somehow there is no footage from anyone, no repercussions legally or from the airlines,” Meredith wrote.
She then accused Whitney of making defamatory statements.
“This is slander. Should I file a defamation suit against her?”
Meredith questioned whether viewers actually believed Whitney’s version of events.
“I didn’t think anyone was dumb enough to believe her but maybe I am wrong and need to take legal action.”
However, Meredith ended her response with a pointed comment that appeared to reference Whitney’s financial situation.
“Well, perhaps not. You can’t squeeze blood from a turnip. 💖”
The remark suggested that even if Meredith pursued legal action, she questioned whether there would be any money to recover.
One viewer sided with Meredith, commenting, “If it was as bad as they claim, Meredith would have been arrested getting off the plane lol.”
The exchange has reignited one of RHOSLC’s most controversial off-camera disputes, which originally unfolded during Season 6.
The incident occurred as the women were returning home from their Below Deck Down Under crossover trip in the Caribbean.
The tension began after Britani brought up an unverified TikTok rumor suggesting Meredith’s husband, Seth Marks, had allegedly been unfaithful.
Meredith was furious that Britani had repeated speculation about her marriage in front of the group.
Things reportedly escalated during the flight home, where Britani was seated directly in front of Meredith and Lisa.
According to Whitney, Heather Gay and several other cast members, Meredith became extremely upset and repeatedly made comments about Britani during the flight.
Whitney claimed Meredith was calling Britani names and speaking loudly enough for other first-class passengers to hear.
Heather also described the situation as intense and said the confrontation repeatedly escalated throughout the flight.
Britani later claimed the experience left her humiliated and emotional.
However, Meredith has consistently denied directly confronting or physically touching Britani.
Meredith acknowledged being upset about the rumors concerning Seth but insisted she was venting to Lisa, rather than attacking Britani.
Her account was that she spent part of the flight discussing what happened, then watched movies and slept.
Lisa also disputed the more extreme allegations, although she previously acknowledged that Meredith was extremely upset and had made harsh comments about Britani.
Because the confrontation happened while RHOSLC cameras were not filming, viewers were left to piece together what happened through the women’s conflicting recollections.
