Joe Giudice is speaking out in support of his daughter Milania Giudice following her recent airport incident.
The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star shared an emotional statement with Page Six, asking the public to show compassion for Milania as she navigates a difficult time privately.
“Milania is a good girl. She has a big heart, she loves deeply, and she cares enormously about the people in her life,” Joe said. “She is also young and going through a very difficult period right now.”
Joe explained that Milania has been struggling with the loss of her close friend, Victoria Zardoya, who died in July.
According to Joe, that loss deeply impacted Milania.
“Losing someone you love is incredibly painful, and grief does not have a timeline,” Joe said. “She has been trying to process that loss while also dealing with the pressures that come with growing up in the public eye.”
Joe also urged people not to judge Milania based on one public moment.
“I know my daughter. I know her heart, and I know that what people may see from the outside does not tell the whole story of what someone is experiencing privately,” he said.
Joe acknowledged that there have been difficult moments, but made it clear that he does not believe those moments define Milania.
“There have been difficult moments, but those moments do not define who Milania is as a person,” Joe said.
He added, “I love my daughter, and I will always stand beside her.”
Joe’s statement comes after Milania was seen in a since-deleted video having a heated exchange with her mother, Teresa Giudice, and older sister, Gia Giudice, at an airport while police were nearby.
In the clip, Milania repeatedly asked, “This is what we do now?” as Teresa told her, “I love you.”
Gia then told Teresa to “let her do what she wants to do” before Milania yelled, “Shut the f–k up!”
According to TMZ, the incident happened at Tampa International Airport in Florida, where police were reportedly notified that “multiple females need police ASAP.” The outlet also reported that Milania had been separated from a counselor who was traveling with her, Teresa and Gia.
TMZ reported that Milania was located about 10 minutes later and received a police escort to her gate. There was no arrest or medical transport.
The situation quickly became public, but Joe is now reminding people that there is more going on behind the scenes than what was captured in a brief video.
