Andy Cohen is addressing where things stand with NeNe Leakes and The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
While speaking with ET Online, Andy was asked about the possibility of NeNe returning to RHOA after her highly anticipated appearance on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.
And while Andy made it clear he loved seeing NeNe back in the Bravo mix, he also pointed out that Atlanta already has a full cast.
“You know, I have to say, we just finished the reunion and the cast is so great,” Andy said when asked if NeNe could return to RHOA. “And we have eight housewives right now so it seems like we have a stacked lineup but I loved her return to the Ultimate Girls Trip. The fans were so excited. And I was just as excited as the fans because I’m a fan.”
NeNe’s Ultimate Girls Trip appearance has been a major moment for longtime Bravo fans. After years away from the network, NeNe returning to celebrate 20 years of Housewives felt like a full-circle moment, especially considering she is one of the most iconic Housewives in franchise history.
NeNe was an original Atlanta Housewife and helped turn RHOA into one of Bravo’s biggest shows. Her one-liners, personality and presence became a huge part of the franchise’s identity.
That is why fans have continued to call for her return, especially as RHOA has gone through cast changes and mixed reactions in recent seasons.
However, Andy’s comment about Atlanta having “eight housewives” and a “stacked lineup” suggests Bravo may not be rushing to make any major additions right now.
Still, Andy made it clear that he personally enjoyed seeing NeNe back.
“I was just as excited as the fans because I’m a fan,” he said.
That alone will likely keep fans talking.
NeNe’s relationship with Bravo has been complicated over the years, but her return on Ultimate Girls Trip showed that the door is not completely closed. Andy has also previously praised NeNe’s importance to Housewives, saying the franchise could not celebrate 20 years without her.
For now, though, it sounds like RHOA may be moving forward with the cast it already has.
