Dolores Catania is clearing up one of the biggest rumors surrounding The Real Housewives of Rhode Island Season 2.
After fans began speculating that Liz McGraw was secretly filming again despite announcing her exit from the show, Dolores made it clear that the rumor is not true.
During the Thursday, August 20 episode of iHeartRadio’s Two Ts in a Pod podcast, Dolores addressed the chatter head-on.
“That is a fake news rumor,” Dolores said.
She then confirmed Liz is not part of the upcoming season.
“She is not filming this year,” Dolores added.
The speculation started after social media footage surfaced showing someone who fans believed looked like Liz with one of her RHORI costars while production was underway for Season 2.
That immediately led viewers to question whether Liz had quietly returned to filming after publicly announcing she was stepping away from the show.
But according to Dolores, there is no secret comeback happening.
Liz announced her RHORI exit in July after just one season. At the time, she said she was grateful for the opportunity but had decided not to continue with the show as cameras started rolling for Season 2.
“I’m full of gratitude for the amazing opportunity to appear on this show,” Liz wrote in her Instagram statement.
She continued, “As filming for season 2 begins, I have made the decision to take a step back and focus on my family, my work and my passions. The RHORI cast is an amazing group of women who have created something special.”
Liz’s exit came after a rocky first season that included cast tension, social media backlash and questions about where she stood with several of the women.
Since then, fans have continued to wonder if Liz was really done with the franchise or if there was a chance she could pop back in during Season 2.
Dolores, however, says that is not happening.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was featured on RHORI Season 1 through her connection to the cast and has remained close enough to the Rhode Island women to speak on the rumors.
