The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum accused Michael of “financial and emotional abuse” in divorce documents obtained by Us Weekly.

Brit, 38, filed a motion in their divorce case last month, alleging that Michael has not paid the mortgage on their shared home or her $2,800 monthly car payment on time since she filed for divorce in January.

Brit and Michael were married for five years before she publicly announced their separation.

“I’m posting this on the last day of 365 to remove this facade of faking like this marriage is going to work,” Brit wrote in a since-deleted Instagram statement on December 31, 2025. “Everybody can’t come into the next chapter.”

In legal documents filed on June 1, Brit claimed that she is currently unemployed, while Michael, who is an investor and developer, allegedly earns $30,000 per month.

“[Cunningham] has been the breadwinner during the marriage. [Eady] is completely reliant upon [him] for financial support and maintenance,” the court documents state. “[He] is financially abusing [her].”

According to Brit, Michael allegedly “engaged in acts of contempt” after she filed for divorce.

The former couple married in 2021 and later purchased a home in the Atlanta area. In her filing, Brit claimed that the mortgage on the property is in her name, but alleged that Michael was the one who always paid the bills during the marriage.

Brit alleged that Michael has “intentionally paid the mortgage late on the residence adversely affecting [Brit’s] credit status … in an attempt to gain leverage in the divorce proceedings pending before the court.”

She also claimed Michael stopped paying her $429 monthly car insurance.

The filing further alleges that Brit has struggled financially because of the credit issues she says were caused by Michael’s actions.

“Prior to marriage, [Eady] was employed; yet due to the adverse credit ratings due to [his] acts, she has been unable to qualify for specific employment opportunities,” the legal documents state.

Brit also claimed that Michael traditionally paid these expenses during the marriage and was paying them at the time she filed for divorce.

According to the filing, Brit alleges Michael’s actions violate an automatic standing order in their divorce case.

She further claimed Michael stopped paying the homeowner’s association fees and utility bills for water, trash and sewer services.

The allegations come as Brit and Michael continue navigating their split after years together. Brit’s marriage was part of her story, and her separation announcement made it clear that she was ready to move into a new chapter.

The exes have been ordered by the court to attend mediation by July 31.

As of now, the divorce case remains ongoing.
