NeNe Leakes’ oldest son, Bryson Bryant, is behind bars after a judge found that he violated his probation.
According to TMZ, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum’s son was booked on May 1, 2026, and is currently being held in a Georgia jail on charges of failure to pay child support, probation violation and failure to appear.
Per jail records obtained by the outlet, Bryson’s bond is set at $27,000.
The probation violation stems from a 2024 case in which police claimed Bryson was found with fentanyl. During questioning, authorities alleged that Bryson gave officers the name Brentt Leakes, which is the name of NeNe’s youngest son.
Bryson was ultimately charged with giving a false name to officers and possession of a controlled substance.
According to TMZ, Bryson later reached a plea deal where the drug charge was dropped, but he was sentenced to 12 months of probation.
As part of that sentence, Bryson was reportedly ordered to pay $500 in fines, complete 40 hours of community service, undergo random drug testing and complete a drug evaluation.
However, court documents obtained by TMZ and filed on June 2 claim Bryson violated several terms of his 2024 probation.
Prosecutors alleged that Bryson failed to report after sentencing, failed to complete the substance abuse evaluation, failed to perform his community service and failed to make any payments toward his fine.
The latest legal trouble comes after NeNe previously opened up about Bryson’s struggles, including his issues with addiction.
The RHOA alum has said in the past that she spent a significant amount of money trying to help him and that Bryson had gone to rehab multiple times without success.
NeNe also previously said that Bryson needed counseling and had a problem.
Bryson’s personal and legal struggles have played out publicly for years due to his connection to NeNe, who became one of Bravo’s most recognizable stars during her time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
While NeNe has spoken about wanting to support her son, she has also been honest about the toll his issues have taken on the family.
For now, Bryson remains in custody in Georgia as the probation violation and child support matters move forward.
And according to the latest court documents, prosecutors claim he failed to meet several requirements tied to his previous probation sentence.
