Dorit Kemsley is not closing the door on Kyle Richards.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is opening up about where things stand with Kyle after their friendship became one of the most talked about fallouts on the show. While Dorit and Kyle were once extremely close, their relationship has been strained for several seasons, with both women feeling hurt and misunderstood.
During a recent appearance on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, Dorit made it clear that she would like to see the friendship move into a healthier place.
“I would love to see Kyle and I be able to get to a place that, you know, we really can put our differences aside or hash it out, whichever,” Dorit said.
Dorit and Kyle’s friendship has gone through major changes on RHOBH. The two were once part of the show’s closer inner circle, but as their personal lives became more complicated, so did their bond.
Kyle has been dealing with her own separation from Mauricio Umansky, while Dorit has been navigating her split from PK Kemsley, financial headlines, her memoir Unburdened and the emotional aftermath of her home invasion.
Their friendship issues came to a head as Dorit felt Kyle had pulled away, while Kyle seemed frustrated by Dorit’s expectations. What once looked like a solid friendship became one of the more fractured relationships on Beverly Hills.
Still, Kemsley says she originally thought she and Kyle were entering the season in a better place.
“I thought we were going into the season, really, I thought we were going in, in that place,” she said.
That comment gives more insight into Dorit’s frustration. From her perspective, she believed she and Kyle had a chance to move forward, only for old wounds, group conversations and unresolved feelings to surface once filming began.
For long-running Housewives friendships, that pattern is nothing new. A friendship can feel repaired off camera, but once the season starts, confessionals, cast trips and outside opinions can reopen everything.
Kemsley did not promise that she and Kyle will fully reconcile, but she made it clear that she believes repair is possible if both sides want it.
“I think that there’s, if both people want to, there’s always room for, you know, making up and making things better,” Dorit said.
Dorit’s comments come after she recently revealed that she and Erika Jayne have been texting again and that their friendship feels warm. However, she previously said she and Kyle had not yet spoken.
