Leah McSweeney’s legal fight against Bravo, NBCUniversal and Andy Cohen is getting even messier.

The former Real Housewives of New York City star is continuing to move forward with her lawsuit, which she first filed in February 2024. In the original suit, Leah accused the network and producers of mistreating her during her time on RHONY and The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, claiming they exploited her past struggles with alcohol and substance abuse for dramatic television.

Bravo and Andy Cohen have denied Leah’s claims, with Andy’s team previously calling her allegations false and demanding that she retract them.

Now, Leah is making a new allegation. According to Page Six, Leah claims senior Bravo executives used Bravo affiliated personalities, including some Housewives, to publicly discredit her after she filed the lawsuit. The report says NBCUniversal executive vice president Jennifer Geisser has now been named in the case for the first time.

Per the filing, McSweeney’s team claims she “has obtained additional information concerning the alleged coordination of the public statements by Bravo-affiliated personalities … and related public-relations efforts involving Defendant Cohen’s publicist, Jennifer Geisser.”

The filing reportedly alleges there was a behind the scenes effort to damage Leah’s public image as the lawsuit moves forward in federal court in New York.

McSweeney’s original lawsuit claimed Bravo and production created a workplace culture that pressured cast members to drink and rewarded alcohol fueled drama. McSweeney, who has spoken openly about sobriety, alleged that producers knew about her addiction history but still used it as part of the show’s storyline.

The case has also included allegations involving Andy Cohen personally. McSweeney previously accused Andy of using cocaine with Housewives and claimed certain cast members received better treatment because of their relationships with him. Andy has strongly denied those allegations. His attorneys called the claims false and defamatory and argued that Leah’s lawsuit lacked specifics.

Leah’s latest claims focus less on what happened during filming and more on what allegedly happened after she sued.

According to the new filing, Leah alleges that public statements from Bravo connected personalities were coordinated as part of a larger public relations effort to undermine her credibility. Page Six reports that Leah claims the alleged campaign has caused ongoing harm to her professional reputation.

The legal battle has already become one of the most closely watched cases involving the Bravo universe, partly because it pulls back the curtain on how reality TV is made and how cast members are treated after they leave.

Leah appeared on RHONY for Seasons 12 and 13 before the franchise was later rebooted with an entirely new cast. During her time on the show, Leah was known for being outspoken, emotional and unfiltered, but she has since said the environment was unhealthy for her.

Now, she is accusing Bravo of not only exploiting her struggles while filming, but also allegedly using the Housewives machine against her once she spoke out.

NBCUniversal and Andy Cohen have denied wrongdoing in the lawsuit, and the allegations have not been proven in court.

Still, Leah’s new claims add another explosive layer to the case. And if the lawsuit moves into discovery, it could potentially force more behind the scenes Bravo conversations into the spotlight.
