Mary Cosby is stepping away from filming The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for now following the tragic death of her son, Robert Cosby Jr.

Production on season seven of the Bravo series has resumed after briefly pausing last week out of respect for Mary and her family. However, Mary is not currently filming, as the network plans to follow her lead during this difficult time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Bravo has not released any official statement regarding casting details for the upcoming season.
Robert Cosby Jr. had appeared on RHOSLC alongside his mother in recent seasons, where he spoke openly about his struggles with addiction. During season five, he had a candid conversation with Mary about his substance abuse, revealing that he began using drugs at a young age.
He shared that he started taking substances including Xanax, acid, Molly and cocaine when he was just 16 years old.
Mary also addressed her son’s challenges during the season six reunion, which aired January 20. At the time, she revealed that Robert had been in jail and was facing eight charges, including a violation of a protective order involving his wife, Alexiana Smokoff.
Earlier in the season, Mary also opened up about Robert’s relapse after he attended rehab in 2024.

Season seven of RHOSLC was originally scheduled to begin filming during the week of February 23. Production was paused after news of Robert’s death broke.
With cameras now back up, it remains unclear whether Mary will return to filming later in the season.
For now, Bravo appears to be giving her the time and space she needs as she grieves the loss of her son.
