Mama Joyce is finally weighing in on Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker’s separation, and longtime viewers know her opinion carries history.
When TMZ caught up with the mother-daughter duo, photographers asked Joyce how she felt about the split. Her response was surprisingly measured.
“Well I just feel like as long as Kandi is happy, I’m happy,” she said.
Before the moment could go any further, Kandi quickly stepped in and ushered her mom along, clearly trying to keep the interaction short.
The outlet also asked Kandi how she spent Valentine’s Day as a newly single woman. Rather than a romantic evening, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star kept things centered around family.
“Well first of all I had to work. I have two shows,” Kandi explained. “I took my mom, my cousin, and we went to dinner and had family time.”
Kandi added that she’s feeling good despite the split. When the photographer reminded her that Mama Joyce said she’s happy as long as Kandi is happy, Kandi laughed and replied, “She’s been very nice lately.”
Fans of RHOA will remember that Mama Joyce was openly skeptical of Todd Tucker from the start of their relationship, creating years of tension that played out on camera. Her calm response now marks a noticeable shift in tone — or at least a truce.
For now, Kandi appears focused on work, family, and keeping things peaceful as she moves into her next chapter.
