While appearing on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the legendary musician briefly opened up about his family and shared that Teddi is currently struggling as she continues treatment for stage 4 cancer.

“She’s really sick,” John said, adding bluntly, “She’s suffering right now.”

The comment came as a shock to many fans, especially given Teddi’s own optimistic update just a few months ago, when she revealed there was no detectable cancer at that time. John admitted that learning about his daughter’s diagnosis initially left him reeling.

“When they told me, I was in such shock,” he said. “I was like, numb.”

Teddi, who is best known to Bravo viewers from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has been open about the realities of living with cancer — even when scans show improvement. Following her October update, she clarified that “no detectable cancer” did not mean she was finished with treatment or officially in remission.

“I’m still going to be having days when I’m feeling sick and stuff because I still am in immunotherapy,” Teddi explained at the time. “So I’m still fighting because you have to be.”

She shared that her doctors have laid out a long-term plan, noting that remission isn’t something that happens overnight.

“The way the doctors said it works, it’s like one year, then two years, then at three years you’re allowed to be considered… in remission,” she said. “So, but that was huge news yesterday.”

Teddi’s battle with cancer began in 2022, when she was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma on her back. Since then, she has undergone 17 surgeries to treat the aggressive skin cancer. In April 2025, she revealed that the disease had metastasized to both her brain and lungs — a devastating development that shifted her diagnosis to stage 4.

She has since endured immunotherapy, radiation, and surgery to treat the tumors, and has been candid about the physical and emotional toll.

Doctors previously gave Teddi a “50/50” chance of survival, a statistic she has shared publicly in an effort to be transparent about the seriousness of her condition.

John didn’t sugarcoat what his daughter is facing now.

“She’s got cancer in the brain,” he said. “And it’s not f—ing fun.”

His comments underscore a reality many cancer patients and families know all too well: progress is not linear. Even with encouraging scans, treatment can be grueling, and recovery is often measured in years, not weeks or months.

For Teddi, the journey continues — marked by resilience, honesty, and an ongoing fight that she has never pretended was easy.

And for her family, including a father clearly struggling to watch his child endure so much, the focus remains on supporting her through each difficult step.
