Melissa Gorga and sister-in-law Teresa Giudice reportedly met up a few weeks back and it sounds like things have gotten even better with them since.
Speaking to Extra, Melissa opened up about where things stand now — and it sounds surprisingly hopeful.
“We are in a different place we than we were a couple months ago. Let’s just say that, everybody’s working on it. We’re working on it. We’re trying to move forward and we’ve, you know, hashed a lot of things out privately without all of this. And I think that’s a good thing.”
For longtime fans who’ve watched the family drama play out publicly for over a decade, the idea of private progress sounds refreshing. Melissa even admitted that reconnecting wasn’t necessarily expected — but maybe it was exactly what was needed.
“Whatever it takes to wake someone up is, you know, that’s how life goes, right? And you never want it to be a funeral or a wedding or someone in the hospital. Like, that’s not what we want. So, this was a more of a natural reason,” she said.
The motivation behind the potential reconciliation isn’t just about the adults involved — it’s about the next generation who’s watching.
“We just want to fix it, and we want to get back together. And for the kids, you know, we have little kids that are, you know, teenagers too that are watching this and behavior repeats itself. And that’s never what I want to see happen,” Melissa explained.
Melissa’s comments come on the heels of Teresa softening her stance as well. Just weeks earlier, Giudice appeared on a podcast and shared a rare bit of optimism about healing the family rift, saying, “Time does heal all wounds. And when time goes by, you forget things.”
