In the world of The Real Housewives of Orange County, friendships can be as dramatic as the on-screen storylines and Alexis Bellino is feeling the sting firsthand. The former RHOC star recently tied the knot with John Janssen, but one key cast member, Heather Dubrow, didn’t attend the wedding, sparking questions and confusion.
Heather explained on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen that she and her husband Terry Dubrow chose not to attend because they “were at Parents Weekend with their daughter,” but also noted the invite was “complicated” since she’s good friends with John’s ex, Shannon Beador. Heather clarified, “We’re not friends with Alexis and John as a couple,” highlighting the strained relationship.
However, Alexis isn’t convinced by Heather’s explanation. During an episode of the Reality With the King podcast, Alexis admitted, “I’m a little perplexed. I haven’t texted [Heather] or reached out yet. But it’s funny because — I don’t understand it — we’ve gone to dinner with them several times, and I guess maybe it’s a work friendship. But I thought we had a deeper friendship than that.”
The 48-year-old mom-of-three also pointed out the timing of their falling out. “And now all of a sudden, she’s filming with Shannon, and I’m not filming.” (Alexis wasn’t asked back for Season 19, which is currently airing.) Despite this, Alexis shared that their communication hadn’t completely stopped: “But we still just texted a couple days ago and even a couple days before that, and then she wished me well on my wedding day or right after.”
Feeling confused and a bit hurt by the situation, Alexis confessed, “I’m still kinda thrown off. Yeah, it’s awkward and weird.” But she’s not giving up on clearing the air, concluding that she plans “to reach out to Heather and get to the bottom of it.”
With all the history and drama involving Alexis, John, Shannon, and Heather, this latest twist is just another example of how complicated friendships can be in the RHOC world.
