Andy Cohen has finally spoken out about the shocking arrest of Real Housewives of Potomac star Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, but not everyone is happy with his response.

The Bravo boss addressed the controversy on Monday morning’s live episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, offering support for Wendy while admitting he knows little more than the public does. But within minutes, fans began questioning whether he was being too soft, and whether other Housewives would be given the same grace.
“I want to say that like all of you, I found out about the charges against Wendy and Eddie Osefo on Friday morning and there’s not much that I can say,” Cohen said. “I know nothing of the charges more than you guys do, than what I’ve read.”
He continued: “I’m sad about this. I’m really sad about this and Wendy is just, you know, I’m a Wendy fan and she has been a great housewife and a great role model. She’s always led with education and her solid family values, and so I’m really thinking about her and her family and I’m certainly hoping that this is all some big nothing.”

Cohen also clarified why the news wasn’t addressed during a recent Watch What Happens Live appearance by RHOP castmate Ashley Darby.
“By the way, last night’s Watch What Happens Live, we had taped that before I went to LA, so that is why you did not hear me asking Ashley her thoughts on that in case you were wondering.”
While Cohen’s comments were calm and empathetic, the reaction from fans was far from it. Many questioned whether his tone would be as gentle if it had been another Housewife — particularly someone with whom he doesn’t have such a positive public relationship.
Critics on social media pointed to past reactions to legal drama involving Teresa Giudice, Jen Shah, and others, where Cohen was seen as far less forgiving.
“Andy acts like Wendy is above the mess because she has a PhD. But if it were someone like Porsha or Candiace, it would’ve been a different tone completely,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Others said the Bravo exec’s clear admiration for Wendy may be clouding his objectivity. And while he insisted he’s waiting for the full story to emerge, fans aren’t holding back from calling out what they view as selective sympathy.
