The Real Housewives universe never runs short of drama, but this time, it’s not just the cast members under scrutiny. Erika Jayne and Teddi Mellencamp are calling out the lie detector company featured in recent episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and they’re not holding back.
On their podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alums shared their doubts about the validity of the polygraph results used during a chaotic confrontation involving Gretchen Rossi, Katie Ginella, and others.
In the episode, tensions boiled over after Emily Simpson brought in a lie detector company to get to the bottom of the conflict. But Erika and Teddi were quick to question how the results played out, particularly the fact that Gretchen passed, while Katie failed several key responses.
Erika noted that Gretchen passed the question of whether she told Katie and Jennifer Pedranti that she was drugged, despite flashbacks appearing to show otherwise.
“How is that possible?” Teddi exclaimed. “This is where I am struggling.”
Erika agreed and questioned the credibility of the results, calling out the inconsistency. The two reviewed several of Katie’s failed answers and were baffled that Gretchen passed so easily in comparison.
Their skepticism didn’t end there. Erika was quick to recognize the lie detector guy from another Bravo show.
“I didn’t like that the lie detector test was the same guy who did the Vanderpump lie detector test,” she said.
Teddi echoed her concern, questioning the integrity of using the same team again.
“I was like, if it’s the same company over and over, like what are we doing? Is this the only guy we can get?”
They also speculated that the results may have been steered in a certain direction. Referring to a moment when Gina told Gretchen “There’s a plan,” Teddi suggested that the lie detector team might have been given a heads-up or instructions.
“It makes it seem like the lie detector people were given specific instructions,” Teddi said.
Erika agreed, adding simply, “Oh, I’m sure.”
With Erika and Teddi now voicing their concerns publicly, fans are left wondering whether the polygraph drama is just another made-for-TV moment or if something more orchestrated is at play behind the scenes.
This Real Housewives scandal might not be about who’s telling the truth, but who’s controlling the narrative.
