The controversy exploded during the premiere of Bravo’s Next Gen NYC, where 22-year-old Ariana Biermann didn’t hold back when speaking about her famous mom. In a raw and emotional confessional, Ariana claimed Kim had secretly used money she earned through Instagram brand deals—without telling her.

“I can’t say exactly what they used it on because I just found out that it was gone two years ago,” Ariana said. “I don’t even know how much money I made over the time period. Nobody was honest. There was no transparency. And I have no idea where it actually went.”

Fast forward to July 31, and Kim Zolciak had her chance to tell her side during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. While she didn’t deny using Ariana’s money, Kim insisted there was context behind the decision—and that it was about survival, not secrecy.

“Actually, the rug was pulled out from the Zolciaks, and Ariana’s money was spent on bills, to be honest,” Kim admitted. “I was left holding the bag for the family.”

Kim explained that financial struggles left her with few options, and Ariana’s earnings were used to cover household necessities—like utilities.

“Brielle paid an electric bill here and there… I was left with nothing, so I had to figure it out fast,” she said, referring to her eldest daughter, Brielle Biermann.

Still, Kim emphasized that she’s already made efforts to make things right with Ariana—and plans to square up completely.

“The money I borrowed from Ariana, I paid her back … for the bills and stuff. And as far as what she’s made and all that stuff, I don’t have the spreadsheets, but she will be [paid back],” Kim promised.

As for whether this family rift will mend anytime soon? That’s still unclear. But one thing’s for sure—the Zolciak-Biermann drama isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and fans are watching every step of the way.
