In a dramatic turn of events, reality TV star Kim Zolciak and her estranged husband, former NFL player Kroy Biermann, were forcibly removed from their Atlanta mansion by US Marshals earlier this month. The couple, once known for their lavish lifestyle, faced legal eviction after the foreclosure of their expansive estate.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the new owners initiated legal proceedings last December to remove Zolciak and Biermann from the property. The filing stated that the couple was holding “the premises over and beyond the term for which they rented to them.”
The owners also noted that “Biermann, 39, and Zolciak, 47, had already been served the papers for the ‘proceeding against a tenant holding over.’” Despite these efforts, the couple initially ignored the filings, prompting intervention by the US Marshals.
On April 8, four deputy marshals “ejected” the couple from their Atlanta mansion between 3:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., according to the court documents.
The sprawling 15,000-square-foot home, built in 2008, features a heated pool, five fireplaces, a six-car garage, an elevator, an arcade room, a movie theater, and a gym — a stark contrast to the couple’s financial struggles.
Back in February, the Bravo alum and former Atlanta Falcons star sold the mansion for $2.75 million, a significant drop from their original asking price of $5.75 million. The home had been on the market for a year and a half as the couple attempted to avoid auction amid mounting financial woes.
Purchased in 2012 for under $900,000, the couple reduced the asking price multiple times, but ultimately could not keep the property.
This eviction marks a significant shift for Zolciak and Biermann, whose public image was often tied to their luxurious lifestyle. Now, they face the reality of foreclosure and the loss of a home that once symbolized their success.
