The Valley cast member Janet Caperna is opening up about her history of arrests as a teenager — recounting underage drinking, drug possession, and a misunderstanding that led to a reported theft charge.

Speaking on the This Side of The Hill podcast, Caperna recalled two separate incidents that led to her arrest before she turned 18. In one case, she was caught drinking at a school dance, an event that ended with suspensions and police involvement.

I got arrested for drinking at a school dance,” she said, describing how one of her intoxicated friends vomited on the assistant principal. Caperna and several friends were taken to the principal’s office, where police officers were present. Though she didn’t go to jail, she was suspended from school — something she referred to as “awesome” because it meant a week off with friends.

According to Janet Caperna, the consequences included enrollment in a diversion program similar to D.A.R.E. classes, which she had to attend with her mother. “My mom was pissed she had to take me,” she said.

Her second arrest involved being pulled over by police while she had marijuana in her car. She was issued a ticket and placed in the back of a police vehicle before being released into her mother’s custody. Caperna said the punishment included community service.

A third incident — not resulting in arrest — involved a former employer reporting her to the police over a company phone she failed to return after leaving the job. Caperna referred to the situation as a “theft charge,” though she clarified that it was later resolved after the employer explained they simply wanted to report the phone as missing.

Caperna’s disclosures come as she continues her role on The Valley, a Bravo reality series that follows the lives of couples living in the Los Angeles suburbs. Now a wife and mother, Caperna framed the arrests as youthful mistakes — though her casual attitude toward the incidents, including calling her suspension “awesome,” may not resonate with all viewers.
