RHOBH Producer Defends Garcelle Beauvais Against Online Backlash Following Exit

Andy Cohen Explains Why Garcelle Beauvais Had to Choose Her ‘Life’ Over RHOBH & Reveals She Left Reunion Not In A Good Place

Garcelle Beauvais made waves late last month when she officially announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. While the news seemed amicable at first, tensions quickly built up, especially during the reunion, eventually leading to her decision to leave the show. By the time Garcelle Beauvais made her exit public, there was already some underlying friction between her and the RHOBH cast, fueling the conversation online.

Naturally, the decision sparked a wave of commentary on social media, with many offering opinions on Garcelle’s choice to walk away. For a mother of two young sons, Jaid and Jax, it’s not surprising that she wanted to step back and focus on her family. But amid the speculation, one individual with close professional ties to Garcelle has come to her defense.

Patrick McDonald, a producer who worked with Garcelle Beauvais on the show, took to social media to share his thoughts and defend her character. He expressed admiration for Garcelle Beauvais’ behavior both on and off camera, highlighting her respect for the crew and her ability to make a tough decision in favor of her personal life.

“I wanna take a moment to address Garcelle’s announcement to leave the show because I’ve seen a lot of negativity online,” Patrick began in a video posted to TikTok.

He continued, “I could go on and on about how wonderful Garcelle Beauvais was to work with. But if you really want to know the true nature of a Real Housewife, just ask the crew. The way someone treats people who they think can’t help them says a lot about their character.”

@patrick_mcdonald PART 1 For the past 5 years I have been producing reality shows for Bravo. That is until recently when I was iced out from all the shows I work on after I started making adult content on subscription fan sites. The reason I started making this kind of content, besides the fact that I wanted to, was because I was extremely burnt out and exhausted by the incredibly toxic work culture on many of the shows I worked on. I have produced 13 seasons of Bravo TV across 9 different shows, from coast to coast. I’m acutely aware of the inner workings and work culture across the board at the network. It’s bittersweet as there are so many aspects of this job and so many people that work on these shows that I love. But ultimately I learned this job was not conducive to me living a healthy, balanced, and fulfilling life. So I made a pivot that some may not understand. And that’s okay! I couldn’t be happier or more content with what I’m doing now. As challenging as it was at times, I’ll always be grateful for many of the memories and friendships that came from this chapter of my life. I’ve always believed in trying to leave a place better than you found it. So on my way out, here are a few things about the toxic work culture I’d like to bring to @bravotv ‘s attention and hopefully see change in the future. On and up ? Patrick shared how Garcelle’s presence on set was always a positive experience. “Every time we found out we’d be working with Garcelle, the crew would get excited. And that’s not the case with all the ladies on the show. I’m so proud of Garcelle for making the decision to prioritize her family and her well-being over a reality TV career,” he concluded.

Through his words, Patrick McDonald sheds light on the kind of person Garcelle is beyond the glitz and glam of reality television — someone who treats others with kindness and respect, regardless of their role in the production. His message speaks volumes about the person Garcelle is, and how her departure is rooted in a desire to invest more in what truly matters to her: family.

I find it funny that people act as if Garcelle is the only HW who asks questions or stirs things up.

A good part of the reasons why the Real Housewives has been a turn off is because of the toxicity on and off the show. Better to leave the franchise with dignity than to continue to grovel for a paycheck.

All it takes to make someone feel good is a smile & a kind word & it costs zero. Garcelle showed how kind & gracious she is. No mention of victim liar Kyle, plastic angry Dorit & the big ice berg. Why back lash on Garcelle though, as sad as I feel her exit, I know she has her priorities straight & also could no longer take the filth & hypocrisy of that awful cast.

SHE was always only a DEI hire, unqualified to mix with the other ladies. She should focus on her ghetto beach shack, 100 miles from anywhere.

No coast line in CA is ghetto. Little do you know.

For sure.

I don't think Garcelle was a DEI hire. I liked her for the most part. She brought some levity to the show.

Apparently she is not the type of person the Bravo film editors made her out to be. What he says about her and her interaction with the crew cannot be said about most of the HW's.

Wonder what brought on that rather flagrantly obsequious round of ass kissing? ? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/923821d779a45413d2983728dd1c88b8bb8ca4fd772a48170cc816608cb1e516.gif

I have no idea why there would be backlash against Garcelle for quitting but then again I only read this site. I will say that Garcelle was off when she walked on stage at the reunion. She wasn't herself. I think something happened that really pissed her off prior to the start of the reunion which is why those hags were able to get away with what they said. "Interesting"...as if EJ decorating her rental is interesting. BTW, EJ did somewhat repair her image this season showing a more lighthearted version of herself ( I said somewhat) but then the ugly side of EJ reared it's head again at the reunion to remind us that nothing has changed.
