Dorit Kemsley Reveals PK Expected More Support from Viewers and Calls Out Kyle Richards for Downplaying Their Friendship

Dorit Kemsley Faces Backlash as Stylist Chris Dylan Sets the Record Straight on Payment Dispute

Living life under the public eye is never easy, especially when you’re constantly navigating personal challenges that become the subject of public scrutiny. Dorit Kemsley, a familiar face on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has been doing just that, especially this season, as she faces not only a separation from her husband, PK Kemsley, but also shifting dynamics within her closest friendships.

In a rare and candid conversation with Jake Nevins from Interview Magazine, Dorit opens up about the difficult process of sharing her personal journey with the world, the impact of her honesty on her relationships, and how she’s learning to navigate the ups and downs of her reality TV life.

When asked about the fallout from her candid comments regarding her separation from PK, Dorit Kemsley didn’t hold back.

“Yeah, it’s actually caused a lot of issues,” Dorit admitted. “We were very amicable and friendly, and then we filmed. And when the show first aired, we’d filmed seven, eight months before that, so it’s really difficult when you’re in the present moment to think where you were eight months ago, right?”

Dorit explained that the challenge of filming RHOBH—and sharing such personal details—becomes even more complicated when the episodes air long after they were filmed. The emotional distance between the past and present can leave you reliving those moments in ways that can trigger unexpected emotions.

While PK had known going into the season that Dorit would be sharing her truth, it was a lot harder than they both anticipated. Dorit shared that PK had expected more support from the audience. “Maybe he thought he’d have more support, and I think that that caused a lot of issues and friction,” she said. “It’s unfortunate because I’ve really tried hard to say, ‘PK, let’s stay in the present moment.'”

Audience Reaction

One of the standout moments in Dorit’s conversation was her emphasis on the importance of being truthful, both on the show and in her personal life. “The audience has never quite responded to me like they did this year,” she said, revealing that the support she’s received from viewers has been both empowering and freeing.

“I think as long as you are true and honest and open, people feel like they’re getting their money’s worth, whether they agree with you or not,” Dorit continued. “So if we hold back and don’t share things that are in the press anyway, then it feels like they’re being cheated, and that’s not fair to the audience.”

The End of a Friendship?

Dorit’s friendship with Kyle Richards has long been a central part of the RHOBH narrative, but as Dorit revealed, the dynamic between them has shifted significantly.

“At the beginning of this season, it did feel like she downplayed how close we had been,” Dorit shared. “And I found that kind of nasty.”

The feelings were clearly raw, and Dorit admitted that it hurt deeply. “It was mean and it was really hurtful, and I think that’s why I had such strong emotions with regards to our friendship. It didn’t feel consistent with the friendship I’d been made to believe we shared.”

Dorit made it clear that she had nothing to hide, particularly when it came to her feelings about Kyle. “I don’t want to give too much away though. Don’t forget, we just filmed the reunion a couple of weeks ago, so I do think that viewers need to tune in and see,” she teased.

But one thing is certain: “After the reunion, there is absolutely no doubt which way we go.”

What’s Next for Dorit?

As we wait for the reunion to air, Dorit’s story remains a reminder of the challenges that come with living your truth, especially when the world is watching. While the road to healing with PK and Kyle may still be uncertain, what’s clear is that Dorit is committed to staying true to herself and doing what’s best for her family.

First Louie, now the felon! I bet they're not having the best weekend ever! ? Couldn't happen to a more deserving couple of grifters! https://x.com/trefab2022/status/1903768353136689634

"One of the standout moments in Dorit’s conversation was her emphasis on the importance of being truthful, both on the show and in her personal life." When is Dorit going to start "being truthful, both on the show and in her personal life"? I don't think she has it in her.

Off topic, but I know this site won't report this. Maybe it's kind of related since Dorit and PK are grifters. It's no wonder Louie has the felon on his TikTok lives for hours begging for gifts. She still owes the government almost 700K and now this. How in the heck does Louie have 2.7 million dollars in tax liens when he has proclaimed several times that he's a billionaire. Then there's that little tidbit out there that Jennifer Aiden loaned Teresa and Louie 500k and they have yet to pay her back. I can't stop laughing!?? Before anyone says it's not real, it's public record. https://www.tiktok.com/@popculturewithballs/video/7483698159307230495?lang=en

Grifty grifters gonna grift… ??? ?

Yuppers. His tik toks are so desperate. He will actually stop his lives to call out people and he also has made veiled threats when someone poses a question he does not like. It's funny to see him muting people left and right. I don't feel the least bit sorry for Teresa, because she got exactly who she deserved.

Lol. The lobster and his pinchers… ? What a mess!

People have made comments about lobsters and his skin color and he immediately blocks. They've also asked him why he has spent all of Teresa's money and when he's going to get a real job.

Lol. Brutal. ?

I really don't think Kyle would have said it if it wasn't true, which leads me to believe that their friendship was just another one of those scripted TV friendships, and one that Dorit apparently wanted to keep going. Kyle not so much; either that or she simply forgot. It does make you wonder how many other friendships across the entire HW series are exaggerated for TV? I'm guess there are many. Yes, Garcon' and Sutton, we're looking at you.

Yeah, either that or Kyle is just a c*nt…? Then again, I reckon two things can be true at once???? PK and Mau being friends kind of makes these two co-workers have to at least pretend a friendship, both for their husbands’ sake and for a Bravo fakery pay check. ? Friendship by proxy is just fine and dandy with Dorit (as in the case with LVP when the Dragon Lady straight up told Dorit she was PK’s friend, not hers). Kyle, on the other hand, exhibits head cheer leader energy in deciding who will or won’t be sitting at the cool kids’ table. ? It’s access denied to the cool kids’ table that chaps Dorit’s azz, not the actual so called friendship which is just a stepping stone for her social climbing ways…?
Zap It March 21, 2025 - 10:54 am
I think that's what bugs Sutton too...she can't sit with the cool kids.
Champagne Hangover March 21, 2025 - 11:20 am
Yeah, but Sutton does and always will (to a degree) give theater kid energy ? She’s awkward even when she’s in the right or being cool. No spot for that at the cool kids’ table. On the other hand, Dorit’s vapidity and superficiality are the very legs which keep the cool kids’ table standing, and she knows it. Hence, her indignation for being excluded. Sutton’s problem is not seeing the cool kids’ table for what it is: Righteousness’s rejects, ? but trusting in money won’t buy you eyes that see even if what it does buy you comes with Chanel frames ?. IJS ?

I think they're work friends but maybe when they were both married, Dorit thought that Kyle was a genuine friend. Anyway, I really like Dorit this season but then again, this is the first season other than when it began years ago, that I have watched entirely. I'm actually ticked when the episode ends. Wow, I know. Long winter. ?
