Rebecca Minkoff Exits RHONY After One Season to Focus on Family and Career

Rebecca Minkoff is making a major life change and stepping away from The Real Housewives of New York City after just one season. The fashion mogul and bestselling author announced her decision to leave the Bravo series on February 4, 2025, reflecting on the importance of focusing on what matters most in her life—family, friends, and personal projects.

In an emotional Instagram post, Minkoff, 42, shared her gratitude for the experience and explained her decision to leave the show. “2025 is a new beginning for me,” she wrote, noting how current global events have led her to reassess her priorities. For Minkoff, the past month has been a time of reflection, pushing her to focus on raising her four children, nurturing her marriage, and diving deeper into her business and passion projects, including her podcast, Superwomen with Rebecca Minkoff.

She expressed a desire to “reprioritize the things that mean the most to me,” such as her 20-year-old business, giving back to the community, and supporting women. Minkoff ended the post with a simple, yet powerful sentiment: “Time to turn the page.”

Rebecca Minkoff’s departure came just hours after her appearance on part two of the RHONY Season 15 reunion. During the reunion, she found herself on the defensive as fellow cast members, including Brynn Whitfield, criticized her for using the show as a platform to promote her brand instead of opening up about her personal life. An unreleased clip also resurfaced, where Minkoff revealed that she joined the series to help revive her business after it took a significant hit during the pandemic. “If I could use this as a vehicle to get it back, why not?” she said.

Another sensitive topic brought up during the reunion was Minkoff’s reluctance to discuss her beliefs as a Scientologist on the show. She explained that her personal connection to Scientology had helped her overcome struggles like anxiety and depression, and had been a key factor in helping her succeed as a businesswoman and mother. However, she also expressed frustration with the way her beliefs were framed on the show, particularly when they were brought up for “clickbait” rather than genuine curiosity.

“I’m happy to talk about it if I feel like I’m in a place where I can have an honest conversation,” she said, but also noted that many of her castmates used her religion as a way to provoke reactions. She went on to clarify that the term “cult,” when used to describe Scientology, felt bigoted and hateful.

Towards the end of her reunion appearance, Minkoff apologized for a prank earlier in the season, where she and co-star Erin Lichy spread rumors about Minkoff being pregnant and unsure of the father’s identity. Minkoff, who has faced personal struggles with infertility, expressed regret for the insensitive nature of the joke. “For anyone who I offended with my terrible prank, I really apologize,” she said.

While her brief time on the show may not have been free of controversy, her decision to exit feels like a natural next step in her journey.

I don't watch the show but I watched parts of the reunion. I thought she came off well last night. I don't know anything about her but she raised some valid points. Not impressed with Jenna's facial expressions. Just proved why this woman didn't feel comfortable discussing Scientology...also showed what a mean girl Jenna is even though she always tries to come across as soooo sweet. I thought the scenes between Ubah and Brynn at the end of the reunion were good. First time I've ever seen a likeable Ubah. She should show that side of herself more.
