Jenna Lyons Says ‘RHONY’ Cast Hasn’t Spoken To Brynn Whitfield Since The Season 15 Reunion

The cast of The Real Housewives of New York City has not been in contact with Brynn Whitfield since the Season 15 reunion, according to star Jenna Lyons. The revelation comes after a particularly emotional and intense confrontation between Whitfield and co-star Ubah Hassan in the season finale, which aired on January 21.

Tensions reached a boiling point between the two women when Hassan implied that Whitfield might have slept with someone to secure her place on the show. In a deeply emotional moment, Whitfield revealed that she had been sexually assaulted and claimed Hassan was aware of the traumatic event when making the insinuation.

When Hassan learned of the allegation, she vehemently denied knowing about Whitfield’s past, causing a dramatic fallout between the two. Eventually, Whitfield clarified that she might not have communicated the details of her assault clearly to Hassan before BravoCon 2023, leading viewers to question whether Whitfield had manipulated the truth to win the argument.

During a January 21 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Jenna Lyons whether any of the ladies had remained in contact with Brynn, or if Whitfield and Hassan had spoken since the reunion. Jenna Lyons responded, “I think that’s a no and no,” while her co-stars Jessel Taank and Racquel Chevremont remained silent in the audience.

Reflecting on the “devastating” reunion night, Jenna Lyons shared how she came to believe that Hassan was telling the truth about not knowing Whitfield’s past. “I could see the emotion in her face and I realized in that moment, there’s no way she knew. There’s no way she could’ve known,” Lyons explained. “The level of complete distraught — she was just completely taken out. I believed her in that moment.”

Although Jenna Lyons acknowledged that Whitfield has a tendency to embellish her stories, she felt that the situation had gone too far this time. “There had been things along the way with Brynn that have made me unclear about her intentions and some of the things that have been said,” Lyons admitted. “But I also know that she’s someone who embellishes and so I have chalked it up that many times. And I have tenderness around that.”

Lyons added, “I have said this before, I was one of those kids who lied to get what I wanted because I felt unseen and I didn’t feel loved and so I have compassion for that. But I think at some point it kind of went too far. It’s one thing to talk about yourself and embellish, it’s another thing to embellish stories that then hurt other people.”

Looking back on the reunion, Lyons said the cast felt “really frustrated” and “a little duped.” “When someone’s stories turn into putting someone else in a dangerous position or an unhappy position, that changes the game,” Lyons said. “That’s not what we’re here to do. That’s not what this show is about. It’s not what we’re about. And I think we were all feeling a little protective and scared.”

Do you think Brynn should be asked to return next season if RHONY comes back?

I think when Bravo exploits someone's questionable personal hurt as good tv fodder it is time to hang it up. This, too, was a production move to try and juice up something that was awful all season in hopes of getting the audience back next season for the drama. Bravo, do you have an inkling of how much you have taken the "laugh along with" approach that was the heart of the original RHNY and turned it into an almost Roman colosseum spectacle where viewers now come to turn thumbs up or down on the exploits of group of fundamentally not nice people. As I have said before, I'll take Luann's wrestling with the bushes in a one hour loop any day.

I would bet the farm that NONE of these woman have been in contact with each other since the "reunion", hence the problem with this franchise. But then again, this has been the theme throughout the entire series for quite awhile. They don't even try to hide it anymore, including Pimpdaddy himself.

I had empathy for Brynn at one point but now, she's just too intentional with the pot stirring and causing conflict. That smirk and oversexualizing everything is old, she acts like a psychopath. Ubah on the other hand is too testy and goes from 0-100 and there is no in between, she needs to shut up and really listen, such a drama queen. I could do without either returning but none of them seem to be true friends anyways.

First of all neither Brynn or Ubah should be back .

WOW. Did this expose Brynn as the instigator of every fight this season? Who knows and who can tell? All the ladies seem fake and guarded at times. I chalk it up to them not really being friends and feeling each other out, but it doesn’t make for a great show.

Brynn has lied and stirred pot ubah is straight cray and wants to hurt people

Ubah is portraying exactly what she didn't want-an angry black woman. But if Brynn is a liar, who wouldn't be angry? Andy has produced a utopian world where a perfectly diverse group of rich women who are not friends, vie for reality fame and it's getting dangerous.

I agree ; but I don’t agree with only Brynn getting iced out after finale whileUbah has been off the rails everytime someone doesn’t kiss her ass . Both of them need the boot

I agree with you 100% there's no chemistry or no real friendships. It does not make for a great show.

The show along with the other ones seem to have taken a dark turn then the way they used to be. I miss the old RHONY They seem to be more scripted now. I thought it was supposed to be reality TV. after watching all the housewife shows the last couple seasons they taken a turn for the worse and darker side.
