NeNe Leakes Drags Kenya Moore for Criticizing Her Filters: ‘She Could’ve Used One’

When it comes to reality TV drama, NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore are two names that never fail to stir up conversation. Recently, the two former Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates found themselves in the middle of a new feud, this time over NeNe’s use of filters on social media. Of course, true to form, NeNe didn’t hold back when responding to Kenya’s comments, and she even threw a little shade in the process.

The Filter Fued Begins

It all started during an Amazon livestream where Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss were discussing NeNe in a seemingly positive light. Moore complimented NeNe’s appearance but couldn’t resist a playful jab, saying, “I think NeNe looks great. I just need her to back off the filters and stuff.” Kandi, ever the voice of reason, fired back, “All y’all been doing the filters, honey!” Moore, however, was not backing down, asserting, “Nah…not like that. This is natural, honey. I wake up looking like this.”

But NeNe wasn’t about to let that slide. She recently sat down for an interview on The Breakfast Club, where she shared her candid thoughts on the situation. According to NeNe, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using filters—and let’s face it, nearly everyone does. But what really ruffled her feathers was Moore’s insinuation that NeNe was hiding behind something fake.

“I use a filter, and I am the filter,” NeNe quipped, making it clear that she’s not bothered by the use of filters in general, but rather by how some people might try to act as if they don’t use them. “These girls need to use filters too!”

Of course, as expected from a reality TV queen, NeNe didn’t stop there. When asked about their encounter at the airport after the remarks were made, NeNe was blunt about what she saw. “Well, she wasn’t looking amazing. She looked okay; she wasn’t looking her best. She could’ve used a hairdo and a filter,” she said, sending fans into a frenzy over her unapologetic honesty.

Surgery Rumors and Future Plans

NeNe Leakes also addressed the constant rumors surrounding her appearance, particularly the idea that she’s had surgery. “I get accused all the time of having surgery,” she said. But as she pointed out, getting surgery requires recovery time, and she’s never had to go through that. NeNe did admit, however, that she’s planning to undergo breast augmentation in the near future. She revealed that it’s been 15 years since her first procedure and hinted at even bigger plans for her body in the future, promising to share the journey once she finds a sponsor.

NeNe’s Possible Return to RHOA?

As if the drama wasn’t enough, NeNe also opened up about the possibility of returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. While she didn’t confirm anything, the hint was clear—she’s open to making a comeback. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see if NeNe Leakes will return to the show that made her a household name, and with the ongoing drama, it certainly seems like the door isn’t closed.

She can come back as a completely different person because she looks nothing like the original Nene.

Joyce Weinstein may be gone, but the epidemic of people completely going twilight zoney with plastic surgery is just getting started.

I don't think NeNe has a snowball's chance in hell of returning. Despite being a self-loathing spineless wimp, Andy's ego would never allow it, and I'm sure Bravo/NBC/Universal has closed that door as well.

I mean, you sue your employer and I think that’s pretty much your curtain call there. Plus, didn’t she call Andy a racist or some sh*t? Yeah, I think at some point, even @ Bravo, your race card can get declined…if you piss off the wrong people. I think Nene not only managed to piss off ‘Daddy’ but proved herself to be a sue happy liability as in ‘fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.’ Neither Bravo nor Andy have any intention of being fooled again. That said, I cannot honestly say that I can summon any genuine compassion for them, regardless. ?

I just don’t get filters in the way of putting out an image of yourself that is clearly not you. Why? As soon as anyone with eyeballs sees you in person, they know you look nothing like that image. ? So, what’s the point? To show everyone how much better you COULD look if only…? ???? That seems depressing to me. Like I’ve said before, I get photoshopping out a zit or something like that cuz it’s still recognizably you, just without a zit. What I don’t get is creating a whole new face that looks nothing like you, presumably to present it publicly as though it does. ? That’s just weirdly delusional to me and idgi. ????

My opinion is no foul no harm. We go thru a similar argument in my industry; that is using wide angle lens photography on the picture (and even videos) which make spaces look much bigger than they are. Some agents/brokers think it's misleading, and/ can annoy perspective buyers when they see that a kitchen countertop is three feet, not STRETCHED in a photo to look like it's 9 ft. long. Others feel the point of the pics are to get people to the home at whatever cost. I'm with the latter.

People seem to forget how toxic she became in the last seasons. She was always angry. It’s not the Nene from the first seasons we liked; she is now a total bully…

I don't watch the show but I think she was always a bully...or at least VERY pushy.
