Jennifer Aydin's Behavior Defended After Jersey Mike's Incident: 'Categorically False and Untrue!'

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin found herself under scrutiny after sharing videos from a recent altercation at a Jersey Mike’s in an airport. In the clips, Aydin expressed her frustration, claiming she had been waiting for an extended period of time and was “so mad” after an issue with a sandwich order.

Jennifer Aydin’s Behavior Defended After Jersey Mike’s Incident: ‘Categorically False and Untrue!’

However, an eyewitness at the scene spoke exclusively with OK!, offering a different perspective on what transpired.

“As someone who was there to witness the entire ordeal, I can’t believe how social media is portraying Jen,” the source revealed. “I was an onlooker to the entire situation, and Jen was completely polite to the people at Jersey Mike’s at first. She never started the conversation with saying she was a celebrity or anything like that.”

The source went on to explain that Jennifer Aydin had been at the sandwich shop with another woman, who they later learned was her cousin. After briefly leaving, they returned because Aydin decided she wanted food from there. She graciously let her cousin go ahead of her, which “annoyed some people online” but seemed perfectly reasonable to the witness, especially since Aydin had already been at the restaurant.

Jennifer Aydin

“In the beginning, a woman had been behind Jen, but somehow she got helped before Jen,” the insider continued. “The wait was so long I would have been annoyed if someone who was behind me was helped before me, but Jen was still polite about this, simply inquiring why this woman’s food was made before hers.”

According to the source, Jennifer Aydin had originally placed an order but later decided to add another sandwich when her husband arrived, needing food for their son. This is when a man, who had joined the line after the woman ahead of Aydin had been helped, began arguing with her.

“That’s when a man who was now behind her in line started up with her, which is when Jen pulled out her phone,” the witness explained. “Given the state of the world, who can blame Jen for hitting record? You honestly have no idea what people will do when they start to get annoyed today.”

It was only when the man threatened legal action that Aydin responded, mentioning her husband’s profession as a plastic surgeon.

While Jennifer Aydin has faced backlash on social media, particularly for supposedly claiming she’s “a celebrity,” the source clarified that the situation was not as it seemed.

Jennifer Aydin

“Someone behind her in line was the one who stated that Jen was a celebrity, which is when Jen confirmed that yes, she was indeed a celebrity,” the insider said. “She in no way was traipsing around the restaurant lamenting about how she’s a celebrity and should get special treatment because of that. That is categorically false and entirely untrue.”

The source emphasized that Aydin’s frustration was understandable given the circumstances. “All she wanted to do was add another sandwich, and not only was the line moving slowly, but she was also being berated by the man behind her in line.”

Another individual close to Aydin also spoke out about her character, asserting that she’s being unfairly portrayed.

“Jen is always a polite, wonderful person, and the person she is being villainized as is absolutely, 100 percent not her,” they said. “I have known her for years and she would never use her ‘celebrity status’ to gain anything. That’s just not in her character.”

The insider also clarified that Aydin was already well-established before joining RHONJ.

“Jen was extremely well-off prior to the franchise, and RHONJ is not what made her,” they added. “The show has been additive to her life by bringing her global attention, but she was well known and respected in the community long before this television show. Ask anyone who knows Jen personally — she is kind, giving, respectful, and adored.”

They concluded, “The person they’re trying to make her out to be — both on TV and with this current situation — that’s just not it.”

Wanna bet Her "cousin" is the inside source? Jennifer is always rude and crude and dropping the fact that her husband is a doctor. I have no doubt that she made sure everyone knew she was a celebrity (in her warped mind).
book7175 January 7, 2025 - 3:38 pm
Some of these comments are ridiculous. Maybe the woman behind her got her order first because she only ordered one sandwich whereas it appears Jennifer was ordering multiple sandwiches for her family. And several people have commented on the rude behavior of the waitstaff but all I've heard is that she was asked to get back in line when she ordered another sandwich at the end of the process, and the "80 year old woman" was slow. If that's the rudest behavior she's ever encountered, bless her. Maybe she should think about those in line behind her who are also waiting and need to catch a flight so having someone slow things down because they don't have their act or their order together when they get in line would annoy the hell out of me too. And finally to be so stupid as to post a video such as she did deserves to be rewarded with some bad publicity. Think before you act is obviously foreign to her.
DFischer January 7, 2025 - 3:25 pm
If any of that is true (which I sincerely doubt) then you ask to speak to the manager and make a complaint. I watch the show and she is not a polite, wonderful person. She is a self absorbed, disrespectful, ugly human deserving of all the vitriol coming her way.
SU January 7, 2025 - 3:19 pm
All this because she wanted an extra sandwich?

You nailed it...LOL

I must confess, I haven't seen the original video as it appears to have been removed. Anyone have a link where I could see it, because I'm willing to go either way on this one. But so far, I'm team Jen A (only because most people are miserable assholes in their jobs that they clearly hate).
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 3:14 pm
Jennifer erred in posting the whole thing on SM in a society that is going to always side with those dealing with the public. Customer service has declined so badly in the past decade that you just expect to be abused as a paying customer and are grateful when you have someone who is courteous and professional. Jen should have just moved on.
AnEnigmaWrappedInSnark January 7, 2025 - 4:03 pm
I'm old school and am usually still so caught off guard when encountering assholes, but I'm becoming immune to them. The sad truth is, most people don't even know how to engage or converse these days. You're right ... it's a rarity when you encounter someone who can. In my own defence, I'm one of those people who also lets the "higher ups" know about those who are exceptional in their jobs (which always surprises them, because all they ever hear about are the crappy ones).
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 6:11 pm
Exactly...they only hear complaints and are thrilled when they hear something positive. That's why the lovely servers at the restaurants my husband and I frequent every. single. weekend like/love us. No joke...oh no a Biden comment...shoot...but it's true. We get the best treatment and we love them too!

Did you watch the video? If not, you’re embarrassing yourself.

Dumb comment
Ginger Snap January 8, 2025 - 11:03 am
Jen started the video by taunting the staff by saying smile, smile. It went downhill from there. She’s an a@@hole. There is no defense for this.

With all SM attention this has garnered, it's not surprising that someone who was there and witnessed this whole thing would step forward. Chin up Jen. The people who are so OUTRAGED that you would call out rude service are the same people who would lose their f*cking minds if it happened to them.
Champagne Hangover January 7, 2025 - 12:16 pm
I wouldn’t lose my mind. I would leave the establishment and go elsewhere. If they don’t want my business, that’s on them, but I’ll be damned if I’ll relinquish one ounce of my self respect tryna get blood from a turnip. No, ma’am. She stepped in sh*t cuz she CHOSE to step in sh*t. She and whatever PR she can muster can go ahead and try to scrape the sh*t off, but if the stench remains, that’s on her. ?
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 12:32 pm
She had a moment and that's human. The server posted to TiK Tok and started a Go Fund Me...And there is NO stench on her. Not nice.
Champagne Hangover January 7, 2025 - 12:54 pm
Au contraire mon cheri, she does and probably will have the stench on her whether it’s fair or not. Why? Because she CHOSE to record and post her ‘human moment’ of assholery for all to see. She had a multitude of other options besides doing any of that. The vast majority of the viewing public did not like what they saw from Jennifer. ? Now does that mean that this woman deserves to be publicly crucified, cancelled and utterly excoriated? Imo, no …BUT she was an idiot not to realize she would be because she DOES deserve backlash for acting like an azzhole to an azzhole, thinking she deserves kudos for her assholery when she doesn’t. It’s just MORE assholery. Sorry, not sorry but I ain’t here to be ‘nice’ to entitled fools and their sammich meltdowns . ? Love ya, tho. ??
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 1:39 pm
But not one ounce of blame towards the assholery of the servers...you know, the one on Tik Tok with the Go Fund Me account? Like no one can have a human moment after being treated like dirt for probably the hundredth time because, jeez, I just want to spend my money at your crappy establishment to get a stupid sandwich. But hey, it must be nice to be in the majority. Love ya too!
Champagne Hangover January 7, 2025 - 11:10 am
This is the most pathetic and insufficient EPIC FAIL PR I’ve ever seen. Really, b*tch? Some mouf breathing ‘fan’ @ Jersey Mike’s and your ‘friend’ are your PR team?! Hell, I barely have a pot to p*ss in and a window to throw it out of and even I could come up with THAT! ? Stop being a cheap azz and hire proper PR to navigate your entitlement issues instead of gullible ‘fans’ whom you otherwise would not cross the street to piss on if they were on fire. ? Sheesh woman, there are other places to eat in any given airport. No way Jersey Mike’s trash food was worth the wait and flack let alone a meltdown. Sorry, not sorry. https://media4.giphy.com/media/dGAXQjzy5mKjPLgJGF/giphy-downsized-small.mp4

In a million years I would never act like this. My husband and I own 8 restaurants across south Texas. 6 are very well known franchises and 2 are family started. We've done this since 1992 and have seen all types of behavior. I had a customer throw a baked cookie display in my face because their butter was too cold. I work side by side with my employees daily, including several elderly long term men and women. Her behavior was disgusting. I would not let my employee treat a customer rudely and i have trespassed customers off the property for their behavior as well.
Champagne Hangover January 7, 2025 - 12:23 pm
I’ve heard it said and I’ve often said it myself, it should be REQUIRED that EVERYBODY work in a restaurant. If you don’t learn empathy and the value of common decency having worked in a restaurant, you never will. I have seen some of the most entitled, rude, obnoxious, shameful behavior having worked only part time as a hostess in a nice restaurant and that PALED in comparison to what the waitstaff and bartenders had to endure. ? People should have to consume what they dish out. ?
Miss mich January 7, 2025 - 12:46 pm
100% i also understand some people are criticizing the employees behavior. I don't condone that either but understand their frustration. I tell my employees to get a manager and they will sort it out
Champagne Hangover January 7, 2025 - 1:21 pm
Yes, I’m NOT absolving the employee of any unprofessional or discourteous behavior if that happened, BUT escalating the situation and being disruptive and obnoxious is not behavior I’m going to defend or overlook. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
AnEnigmaWrappedInSnark January 7, 2025 - 2:06 pm
The problem is, most "managers" are just shift leaders these days, and just as combative and rude as the staff they're supervising. Across the board, customer service is at an all time low. I hope your establishments are better.
Miss mich January 7, 2025 - 2:08 pm
Luckily we are not fast food which is where you see alot of that
AnEnigmaWrappedInSnark January 7, 2025 - 2:16 pm
Six franchises ... wow, you go Miss mich mogul!~ Of course you know we are all dying to know which chain you're referring to. Your "butter" clue has me intrigued.
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 2:59 pm
You are so right and people are getting fed up with it. I still can't get past adding a sandwich to an existing order and being told to get to the back of the line because you want to give the restaurant more business. Yikes.
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 12:24 pm
I have worked in fast food and nightclubs and wait staff can be rude. So, just because you're working in the service industry, that gives you the right to behave badly towards customers and if a customer complains, they're at fault? No way Ho-Zay. Did you see the response from that server on TikTok? Not some delicate flower that's for sure. If someone treats a paying customer disrespectfully, that customer has every right to complain. Wait staff are not automatically victims just because of what they do for a living.
Champagne Hangover January 7, 2025 - 1:02 pm
I don’t know where you got your assumptions from what I said. I never said that waitstaff can’t be rude, nor did I ever say one wasn’t or at least could have been to Jennifer. I also never said that she didn’t have a right to complain. She does. She also has a right to take her business elsewhere and not engage. Which one would have been the wiser decision? ? IJS , IJS, IJS.
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 1:30 pm
You don't learn empathy and decency just because you work in a restaurant. And you didn't say waitstaff can be rude. If you did I missed it...and if I missed it, apologies. Your comment just came across as a tad one sided.
Champagne Hangover January 7, 2025 - 1:45 pm
Did I say it did? I think it was clear from my comment that if you endure what service people endure and THAT doesn’t inspire in you an appreciation for decency and empathy then you don’t have it in you to be inspired. If you can still abuse people after being abused then something is missing in you that you cannot make that connection and see that parallel. Yes, too many people think they are ‘better than’ service workers. Experiencing life from their perspective is indeed an eye opener for those that have eyes to see. And on that note, I’m done discussing this. It’s not that serious.
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 12:21 pm
Well aren't you just Miss Perfect then...I wouldn't want to visit any of your establishments if this is how you allow your staff to treat paying customers. Yikes!
Miss mich January 7, 2025 - 12:47 pm
Ok well I'm good with that
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 12:49 pm

Miss mich January 7, 2025 - 1:02 pm
So clearly you never read my comments. My employees also go thru an 8 hour customer service class before they hit the floor. I expect them to act professionally and respectful or they don't work for me. I also instruct them to get a manager when the Jennifer Aydins of the world come in. I've been in the restaurant business since 1986 and an owner since 1992. We have made more money then Aydin will see and I'm not a celebrity. I still get on my hands and knees and clean out a floor drain better than anyone. There are lots of people out there like her but fortunately most are not

Zap It January 7, 2025 - 1:33 pm
Really? So, you approve of the service that Aydin received? This would be the service that you give in your restaurants? No room for improvement whatsoever? Alrighty.
AnEnigmaWrappedInSnark January 7, 2025 - 2:13 pm
See that's the wrong attitude right there. Instead of "F off, we don't need your business", your response should be "Come visit us and let us prove you wrong". However, don't get me wrong ... my response would be WORSE than yours, and that is why I could never work for the public again ?.
Zap It January 7, 2025 - 3:04 pm
Agreed...you made my point much better than I did.
Coastiedude62 January 7, 2025 - 11:49 am
I disagree. We don't all have moments like this. I have never treated service people horribly. If I don't like something I turn around and leave. I don't take multiple videos and post them to SM.

I'm not better, but as a grown adult I know how to conduct myself, it's called self-control and self-respect, so take your eye roll and shove it. You are always itching for a fight, (guess that explains why you are riding so hard for Jennifer and insulting others for their opinions on her behavior ) and that is why I choose to ignore you, but I did feel the need to address you today because your assummptious comment is beyond ridiculous. You stating that you wanted to throw up over this whole deal with Jennifer, shows your lack of maturity. You are way too invested in her life. Now carry on, but you are back on ignore. You should actually try ignoring sometime instead of getting so worked up over someone who wouldn't give you the time of day.

Well, I guess I hit a nerve with the grown adult who knows how to conduct themselves. So very mature of you. Second eye roll.
